I'm not sure if diversion is available for a driving offence however your best bet is to speak to a lawyer asap who will contact the police prosecutor on your behalf to find out.
-
You have the following immediate options:
- Plead guilty with the duty solicitor provided to you at the court on the day. Expect 3 months Loss of license, a small fine and $130ish court costs
- Plead guilty with your own lawyer on the day. Expect similar loss of license, fine and court costs + lawyers bills
- Plead not guilty with the duty solicitor provided to you, you will be supplied their initial disclosure evidence and remanded to reappear at a depositions hearing for which you will require your own lawyer.
- Engage a lawyer who will request disclosure now and build a defense.
Did you give the police any admission that you were in the wrong or anything that would establish that your intent was to lose traction and sustain it?

Can they prove intent?, like did you reeeeaallly skid it up or was it a split second thing?

Forgot to mention there's a decent cafe at the Milford Sound lodge. Hope the sandflies weren't too deadly

I hate modern torches that are off/on for really delicate shit too. Its nice to have one like that 130 where the torch goes off-gas-on so you can cool your welds a bit more

Wonder why they discontinued it

I've got one of these
http://www.onlinetools.co.nz/products/weldtech-xm180-pro-inverter-mig-welder-230v-180-amps
Its an absolute cunt on CO2 and .8mm wire. Sure it has the power to run a bead on heavy stuff but spits sparks like a motherfucker. Had the rep out to test it after I complained and he couldn't understand why either. Runs beautifully on Argoshield though...
I've got one of these too
Its done my panel steel work with CO2 and .6mm wire for years with no probs and its only 130a. Wouldn't bother doing anything over 2.5-3mm with it

What gas are you planning on using?

Glad you guys made it. Such a photogenic automobile.

Or just buy the 12a I have sitting in my garage with mint plates. Much easier.

$1500-$2500 for a good runner with gearbox.
If you've imported them from the US they are likely Cali cars with all the smog gear that might scare/confuse potential buyers.

Or you can do a panel then spray it black with a decent product for the same price or less than buying a bunch of cans

Coke can and a hose clamp?
Usually the barrel tapers out at the bottom and can just tap the piston in

Sustained Loss of Traction - what to expect at court?
in General Car Chat

FYI last time I was charged with loss of traction I got my car out of impound within a week on a technicality with the paperwork served on me at the time.
I plead not guilty at court with the duty solicitor, was remanded. Wrote a letter to prosecution pointing out inaccuracies/fallacies in the polices evidence and why it could not be established that there was any intent behind my actions. Lawyer read it, put her letterhead on it and her name at the bottom and sent it.
At depositions hearing the police withdrew the charge. Judge asked why and police said they had insufficient evidence.
I dont want to come across as boasting, its just a scenario for you to consider. It all hinges around establishing your intent to SUSTAIN a loss of traction. What you said to the cops at the time is very important. You'll be provided their notebook notes in the initial disclosure at which point you can decide if its worth fighting.
Good luck.
