my second was my estate at 16 what i got as a wreck for $150 with reg on hold.

my third and current car at 17 is my mercedes 190e what i got for $1300

lowered with mags with a dead engine

Who knows what my next project will be...

well iv seen just a tick over 150 out of my 1300 4spd escort estate with cam, extractors and performance leads, tuned carb. mine you that was going down a hill, not too steep tho (motorway from mosgiel to town).

that was flat out as i was late for exams, dont intend doing that again.

esky sees 135-140 on the flat with a bit of time reliably tho. dont kno what the fastest iv been would be, probably round the 190-200 mark in a wrx or sumthing

Yeah iv priced it and itd cost $2000 to pay someone to fix it, il definately have a crack at it and see if i can get it running without that goddamn 4th bearing noise. the dunedin mercedes branch is too busy stocktaking to be able to waste their precious time finding out what all the bearings and gaskets will cost. Yeah im definatley lookin at a RB20DET because of the number of RB20DET autos there are from everyones little drift cefiro projects. insurance is gonna be a bastard but thats nothing new.

Id rather go for the turbo nissan so i can keep people guessing when they hear the little "psssh" under the bonnet.

Yeah thanks Kyteler, Im on one hell of a tight budget so im gonna investigate the motor after work today to see if its got compression.

if the bores and rings etc have been scratched then il strip the motor and sell all the parts i can and grab either a RB20DE,RB20DET,RB25DE or an SR20.

either way im gonna enjoy watching all the ricers with their huge wheels and flashy paint squirm when they see it...

well i got it home today, towing, idleing in neutral.

motor started pissing out coolant from the overflow as i drove it up the driveway. shit happens, im probly gunna chuck a rb20 in anyway

sounds like the big end bearings died and being mercedes it wont be cheap but hell if the parts for me to fix it are gonna cost more than $1500 il just rip the motor out and put a RB25DE in instead

Christ i wouldnt bother putting time into my car if i couldnt thrash it every now and then. Its people who flaunt the law after watching fast n furious too many times and think its cool that make our insurance premiums so high and give proper enthusiasts a bad name.

Iv had bad experiences with asians and ricers but i kno a guy hus korean and hus father owns a hyundai factory of all things and hes a good mate of mine.

i basicly restored my whole car myself(bodywork,rebuilt box,diff etc). many,many hours in the garage. only thing i paid anyone to do was fit new shock inserts.
