    Yeah that sounds about right. Well shit the cars already worth half what iv put into it. Why not go the whole hog!!! Just found out the computers nissan use in the ca18det are a similar computer to the delco. I.e can be re-mapped via the eeprom. "A lot of readers may be interested to know that the fastest Nissan road cars in the states still run the stock Nissan ECU." quotes some dude on a site i was on.

    Yeah i have done a budget which has got me to the figure of $6400 which should be over estimated as alot of the stuff i have rounded up. Then also remembering i will have missed some things out. Most of the fabrication will be done for cost+beer ie, tunnel, mounts and tubs. Speedo cable on the old s12's gearbox was mechanical so thats all good. I have added a remote servo into my budget so am thinking the standard manifold will be fine. Aparently the steering column gets in the way but i have a small fix for that. Was planning on doing the diff anyway so driveshaft also has to be done when diff is done. To get 200 ill be doing 3inch from turbo then 2.5 Td05h version7 550cc injectors Fuel pump FMIC, BOV, and Wastegate Microtech full computer and loom. and about 17psi boost That should give me around 190kw@da rubber hopefully 200 they are just under 140@wheels standard. Cheers for that website to RT will have a look now.

    Think you got them mixed up a bit there mongol. The Sr has the low down torque where as the ca is a rev hungry little bastard. The SR does have a differant designed head tho. It only has 4 lobes per cam where as the Ca has 8 as normal. Means the Sr will be noisier in that department. Im going towards a Ca at the moment anyways as i can get one with box for around 1000 where as sr is 2500 with box. Also a gasket and bottom bearing set for the ca is $300. nice and cheap. Not much in it as the differance in power is 10kw i think, and a whole lotta torque which will just make me spin up a storm anyways.

    200 would be nice. Should be do-able with the turbo i am using. I was going to go with about 130 with a turbo pinto but then who says i wont want more. At least with the Ca18det there can always be more. Mini tubs will also be on the cards. Blue VR4 van from Rotorua. I am from Rotorua just moved to Welly tho.     I would say 12inch as my 69 escort came out with 12inch. And anglia's are older so 12 or maybe 13 if shes a top model maybe.

    Has anyone done this conversion Ca18det or sr20det or can put me onto someone who has? Think i might scrap the idea of 2l pinto turbs as this would be a much more power efficient way to make 200kw@wheels. Am just tossing the idea up at the moment but any help would be good so i can make a budget up. Thanks. Gazza

    yes. Hilux. they have shit ratios tho. Doesnt matter if you have a rota that can rev tho i supose. There is a corona wag here with similar conversion.

    must be clutch. cant be much more it is unless its slipping out of gear???? You can do a clutch test by driving in 5th (4th maybe in a 4speed) and at about 60k put your foot right down and then punch the clutch right to the floor and then drop it straight back up. Youll tell if it is fucked by the sound or if its good as by the launch youll do I wouldnt do this too many times tho as its hard on the clutch.

    those flat type mufflers if you are talking bout the sport type ones are expensive. i got one with a 2.5 inlet and outlet for the FX and it was $260 muffler. Sounded real good tho. Not excessive loud and droony. but when you put ya foot down you hear it. Quality.
  13. yeah i have an electric boot release in my mk1. I just went to the wreaker and got one out of an old car. Think it was a falcon it ended up out of. Cant memba. I know the mid 80's familia wagons had them and also most holden wagons. Have to make up an adaptor thing tho. Before that i had a cable that ran from the cabin around the boot lid and up the boot stalk. then through the hole behind the seats and up to behind the handbrake. Worked well till it snapped on day. Was a bitch to get open as the boot is now shaved. Had to put togther alot of extensions and a socket

  19. Yeah. i think its how you treat them that decides on the fine youll get. Sometimes they even will let ya off. As for the car you drive. Some cars do get targeted alot. i had an old rugged looking corona. not low or anythng just rugged. i used to get pulled up all the time when i had my restricted. They would pick on me and although it was my fault for carring passenges some times you just have too. My car had a few diff coloured doors so i was always in the shit What year architecture you in man. im doing degree in architecture at massey in Welly.

    Id send you the pics of what iv done but im afriad i would get booted or just plain laughed at. Nah i got no camera. But ,mine is shit. only holds a half ass amount of oil. This time for the turbo motor i am thinking of cutting the middle of the cross member out and moving just the middle peice back to clear the standard sump. Cert guy said its all good so thatll be me.

There is also a 12a in a blueish green mk2 in toerags thats alright. Untill i am finished building a turbo set up i guess id leave ya be on the road
  22. another hater. Which series 12a is it? What box do you use? You could go with a cortina or xf falcon diff if you dont want to spend too much $. The xf falcon utes were LSD in some cases. means you will need to redo the driveshaft but.
