  3. Yes this is true. I have a mate that reserched one. He was going to use a hilman avenger? diff from memory because you can reverse something to make it A ok. cant remember full story try googling it... Also the s2000 box will not bolt up to a b16a. ratshit for that idea. looks like custom box for you. more dollars..... Its a very expensive conversion jus for a bit of vtec. lol

    escort mk2 weight?

4age, easier than the others mentioned here and can definatly get good power out of them. Not to expensive to do and they are awsome engines.

    escort mk2 weight?

Does the Hynes also say the weight of the Mk1 coupe? Cheers
  7. I dont know about the locked diff being illegal but the fliped leaves i was told about by a spring dude in Vegas. Cant remember exactly why but something about it making the spring pressure go the wrong way which stuffs up the handling. He didnt recomend it. especially when resetting was 120 for both leaves.
  8. Was it an escort? Mine are only just captive now and it doesnt really look that low I think I might have different struts tho, because the diameter of the spring is heaps wider compared to some other escort ones I have aye. Yeah a mk1 2dr. with mk2 sport struts. Springs traped. Was low as with the standard wheels then with the mags on it just bites the gaurds hard. thats with 195/45/15 tyres. and the back had 3inch blocks. but couldnt take more than 1 in the back without it SITTING on the wheels. was a bitch really
  9. WTF. how low is your car. My old springs used to be low as fuck and still traped. Ill need a pic of this im thinking. post em up. But yeah usually bout $40 a shock from most engineers.
  10. I have my most fun drifting when i go to pick up the milk or whatever from the dairy by myself with noone around. Then there is none to show of to. Still escorts dont get very sideways at all before spinning round. Short wheelbase.,
  11. Try expensive tyres if that doesnt work, will do a hell of a diffeance if you have cheap ones at the moment. The Dunlop DZ02G or DO1J are awsome tyres. They really a track tyre but are dot rated so road legal. Awsome traction but not much wear in them. Not too badly priced either as long as its not an everyday car are the best tyres.

I have a guy who "says" he can do it. He has done three others that i know of that are working fine. Not hilux ones however. I didnt ask how he did em as of yet. Maybe i should as i would have thought the same as above. Oh well the housing was 40 buck and i knwo where another is also just a bit rusty on the outer.

i just got a hilux axle disks etc without head of trademe for $40. i will chop it down my self and if all goes well a $250 LSD out of a surf will be put in. I dont call $300 odd dolars expensive for a diff. Actually i wouldnt even call $500 installed expensive. Mind ou if you pay someone to shorten it then. good buy 500 mark and up to 600 for work plus whatever for cost of axle.

Yeah differant class tho. pro turbo rear wheel drive is the class i think. should have been more specific. I just brought a hilux diff for mine.
  16. lol, nah I was refering in general. Actually noticed it as I was doing it.
  17. I just brought one on trademe minus the head for $40. Am going to look for the 4.1 LSD head as it'll bolt up to an sr20 or similar box which is also 4.1. Think an LSD head is round $350 mark and cutting it up is do-able or at the worst $400. Cheers guys. Might have the shortened cortina one for sale soon if this works out.

  20. Im not to sure if he posts here. I just saw it as I was reading the questions on his auction. Damn I hate it how when you write 'i' here you have to go back and make it a capital.

Haha. i know as soon as i get a house itll be me finished with cars. Ill want to do a nice fence and new carpet, paint the outside with candy .... what im saying is money will go into house rather than car. 1 at a time for now. Now all i need is a money making scheme to get the doe in the first place. or i might go on a fishing boat for a few weeks over break. Thats good money hard earned. Have been reading a few more sites now and looks like steering column is in the way. Also the standard manifold can be used if i ditch the brake servo. I hate that fukn servo and have wanted it out for a while now. Anyone know a cheap fix to the prob, or a cheap place in nz that does remote servos.

Yeah i see, all the shit that you dont add to the equation always get ya. iv been there done that also. adds up little by little. Could end up costing more but im willing to put as much as it takes into it. Im only 21 and want to fully build a car before i decide to buy a house. Thinking to do it once and do it right. After the house is in the equatiuon it leaves little money for cars i would think. Would i be right about that guys?

Id say it all depends on how rushed you are to do stuff. If you can wait for things to pop up and have money to buy them at the time then it can be a lot cheaper. I hopefully will have a lot of hookups for this job so that would be great. If i dont get the go ahead from them then it might be a change in plan yet again. All in all hopefully its do-able at a price im willing to pay.
