Only if you WOF guy doesnt relise its a 1600 or doesnt care. i think its 20% displacement increase and you needa cert. My old WOF guy is also a Cert guy.
Or decomp head gasket perhaps.
yeah but the block only sits an inch higher. so you wouldnt really know unless your into escorts. but then msot mechanics probably are hah
What sort of work is need to add new seats to a car?
Looking at these http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 121985.htm
for my wagon. Anyone know what kinda work is needed to bolt them in? was gonna buy a set of escort rails off jinx to attach too them?
Thanks in advance
even tho youve found your problem ill add that putting a bit of oil into the problem cylinder and checking it again can also raise the comp... and if it doesnt it brings forward the problem of your seals..
the older red blue and black 16v's are the ones to get. 20v's and 4AGZE are a big hassle because youll have to mod it for RWD.
As Zep said their are aftermarket twin carb manifolds. but the one we saw was like 400 bucks. and it had no carbs!
youll also either need and after markert computer or another starter. If i remember right the computer that controlls the ignition wont run without the tvis injection.
Remember that the 4AGE is a Cosworth replica. So its gotta kick ass.
i thought blue smoke was oil? hah.
The compressions were about 150 on all and number 4 was down at 110 at first and then 140
We didnt leave it hot very long. bout 10 minutes? cant drive it coz ithe battery didnt fit and it was connecting using wrenches. couldnt find any terminals haha
So i fired up my escort today. I replaced the spark plugs and did a compression test on the cylinders. the cylinder nearest to the firewall was down a bit but some oil fixed that. but the trouble is its blowing smoke like nothing else. its not oil coz the smoke is like pure white! Any ideas as to what it is? Its kinda deadly the amount of smoke it blows. i was thinking it could be shit in the exaust pipe or it could be shit in the engine.. its been siting for 2 years. Anyone have a clue?
its on page 13 of my MK1 haynes manual
A 3.777:1 also 9
B 4.125:1 also 4
C 4.444:1 also 4
D 3.900:1 aslo 2
those are Mk1's
it should have one of those letters or numbers under axle. numbers are for heavy duty.
Hmmm. Are you friends with craig murray? i think i saw your escort at his place the other day.. unless there are more than 1 metallic blue escorts around
