My old mate Barry in Te Horo has done this conversion into a p510 but i think he pulled it out and went FJ20 turbo in the end. You may know him? He used to drive a black Primera with a SR20 and VR-4 front mount. I've lost his number sorry but if ya see him round he'll be happy to advise you on the wiring.
Sounds like bump steer - check your front suspension arms are pointing down from the chassis to the wheel or at least level.
If they are not I'd get some geom blocks for where the strut meets the lower arm as you need to keep the suspension geomerty in porportion to your lowering.
Hope this makes sense.
Also there are quite a few DX owners (including some Lawton Rotorsport DX owners from Param) on http://www.rotahavik.co.nz if you need more advise.
But custom made springs aren't cheap and what about leaf spring rear suspension?
I've found them quite cheap! Even getting the leafs reset only cost me about $250 or if ya want blocks about $50.
You want to keep the rate relevant to the height reduction thats why you compress rather than cut. Cut springs are too soft and handle like shit, but people who have never had proper lowered springs will always argue they are better
Each to their own but I like decent springs.
Why not just fix ya rust and get a real warant?
It's no good for our scene when a rust bucket is involved in a crash and some kid is killed and it turns out it should have never had a warrant in the first place!
