  1. It was a great turnout!

And the skids were excellent. Nissans dominated the skidpad. And lots of them broke/caught fire.

I can't wait for the next night drags.

I'm also itching to fine tune my car too. It sooo needs a locked diff.

Bart came close to his PB

Not such a great feat when my PB is so slow though.

Actually there were lots of cars there doing 14's. So it a good feild for your average fast street car. They didn't get the DYO thing working in the end, which was a bit of a shame for the slower guys. But my consistincey was all up the fuck, so it worked well for me.

  2. In my experience you get cut a lot more slack when you're part of an organised group. The police spoke to us once on one of our cruises, and they just told me (as the organiser) to tell everyone to pull their heads in and tow the line. They could very well have blocked the exits and been cunts about it. But since most cars were old as fuck (and not a bunch of desprung D1 wannabe's) they delt with the situation acordingly.

  3. Actually, I think it was a good idea.

If you have a convoy of 30 datsuns, or 30 toyotas or 30 hot rods, or muscle cars, then it's clearly a club event. If you get a huge group of all sorts, then it's more likely to be a mob of hoons going out to do some skids.

Playing by the rules is smart. If you think it was a shit idea, then you must be the kind of person who makes life hard for the rest of us actual car enthusiests. So maybe you should stay home so you dont ruin it for the rest of us.

    End rant.

  4. If you want the good oil RT, be talking to Wyane Martin in Waller tce. He's VERY helpful. There has been a book released about modifying cars by the LVVTA, called the hobby car technical manual. It tells you everything about doing things the right way. But it costs a fucking fortune though.

The basic gist of ground cleance rules pertain more to if you get a flat tyre the chassis cant hit the road and cause you to roll. A zhorst/skirt/sump will be able to deform ect which while it's still a bad buzz isnt going to result in the car tipping over onto it's roof. (Which would be even more of a bad buzz)

  5. most modern diesels (well all cars really) use an electronic speedo. You just find the wire from the transducer to the speedo and fit a switch. then if the 5.0 pull you up, flick the switch back and if they make you drive down the road to see if it works you'll be sweet.

    diseasel is ftl though.
