Thats a possinblitiy. but the Commodore rb20e's didn't even use an O2 sensor.Also check your O2 sensor, is its stuffed your closed loop will be rich.AFM sensor has major control of ECU's output so clean / check it too ?Yeah once I recover from my hellish weekend, I'm gonna have a crack at cleaning everything.

OT, but talking about towing boats with fail wheel drive vehciles,
Back in the '80's there was an ad on TV for a front tug mitsi which was towing a broken down Aussie army tank. The slogan in the ad was "more tow than an Aussie tank"
I can still recall while that ad was still airing seeing one on the slipway trying to pull a boat out with three guys sitting on the bonnet spining the wheels and going nowhere. Dads V8 val hardtop on the other hand............

Someone said already, but ceffies too. I roll in a rough as guts single cam auto shitter for my daily, and today a tidy as chick in a WRX asked my if I wanted to sell it. I was amazed to be quite honest. Many years from now, (when all the D1 wannabe bundys have fucked them all) they may actually be worth something. I'll add to the list DX rollas and KP60's (If noone has already)

I have to agree with the r32. Back in the mid '90s, I knew untold cunts who rolled in rx2's and 3's. They were common as much as everyone drove them like they stole them. Now they cost shitloads, and there aint many for sale.
Think today, r32's are the white trash sports car of choice. Everyman and his dog rolls in a skidder, and all the D1 wannabe's are screwing the fuck out of them. fast forward ten years, and they'll be as overpriced as rotors are now.

I heard today that BOC (bunch of cunts) have closed down their chch acelyne plant, and the one in Aucks is soon to follow. Southern gas get their from china apparently.

prolly a bit late now, but try using a air drill with the pressure way down. That way you can go slow enough to get the correct cross hatch pattern for your bores.

Did you hone the bores yourself dude? They look a bit like the hone was going a bit fast for a hand hone job.

My dad has one of these and it pinks too. I wound the spark back a bit last time I used it, and it got a wee bit better. I never thought that it was peharps running too hot a spark plug.
They are a turd of a motor, the cams are real bad to much off a cam lobe, and I think the old boys one might have a sick bearing, or a cracked slug. Keeps one trucking though.

Rental on gas bottles gets old really quick. Plus the A-holes wait untill the new quarter has begun before sending the bill too. It'd take about two years of renting two bottles (say oxy and acetylene) to pay for owning one bottle outright.

My rb20e powered shitfiro is a uses a bit more gas than it should, and I see the back of it is getting that dirty look like it's running a bit rich. The motor runs mint with no problems, and uses no oil at all.
So how can I make it run a whisker leaner?
With fool proof old cars, I could just put some smaller jets in it. But the fucker doesn't have a carb. EFI is a mystery to me. What can I do?

My dad told me that he used irontite in his sidevalve V8 34 ford coupe back in the mid 60's. he reckoned it went from 7 to 8 cylinders as he was pouring it in. Must be good stuff.

BOC are a pack of wankers even on a good day. They'd prolly tell you that even if they could fill it. I used to get my CO2 bottle filled a place called carbonic ice. (I think) Any halfway decent fitter & turner should be able to make an adapter to make your bottle refillable.
I've seen guys use soda stream bottles on small migs.

Or maybe the preload on the bearings each side of the center? There are a bunch of big arse shims either side of the center which are matched to the housing. They can be PITA to get back in at times.

Since it's pretty easy to remove the back cover, have you tried rechecking the crownwheel/pinion mesh with bearing blue? Does the crownwheel have wear on the faces of the teeth? (kind of a rippley look on the face of the tooth)

Maybe check your voltage while the head untis playing up with a multi meter and see if maybe you have an alternator fault?

I haven't properly read this thread, but 0 compression would have to be as a result of a tight valve lash preventing the valve closing.
I knew a guy who rebuilt his engine after a cook up. He has the head shaved,as well as the rest of it. Then he slapped the head back on without resetting the tappets and had no compression. Fail.
