A few of the NZdatsun crowd have used silway panel and paint. They're someone out of town though I think?

Season Final Blowout
Due to the postponement of our Kevin MacInroe meeting and the damage to our drag wars Sponsor Sylvester V8/Jap Race Supplies we have decided to give you racers a chance to have a blow out and get as many runs in before the weather closes in and the cars get put in the garage.
Will be heads up grudge racing all day and possibly a DYO eliminator bracket depending on interest.
Track will be prepped for those comp cars wishing to run.
Burnouts will be on the pad after racing with them videoed again and put on the web.
Gates open 8.30am
Racing from 11am
Prices:
Gate $10per person under 12's free with paying adult
Racing
$20 per racer + NZDRA Affiliation Fee $25
Pegasus Bay club members race free + NZDRA Affiliation costs
Anyone racing is able to enter burnouts after. Those wishing to enter just the burnouts will need to pay $30

My dad bort a silver fox xw gt brand new. I'm not a ford man, but I do wish he still owned it.

It's actually quite easy to move the leaf springs inboard on these vals, which free's up lots of space for rubber. There was a really sweet blue VG from nelson with a 440 running at the nitro sunday meet at ruapuna which had had this mod.
The poxy local content laws that the Aussies had have made life hard (read expensive) for people like us.
Don't be too quick to go 9" though. I've heard of guys running 11's with the Type 78 diff running the four spider center and 28 spline axles. And people have run slower after going the the ford diff due to the increased driveline losses. But that said constant breakages suck the sweat off a dead dogs balls.

The AP5 had a different heater to the 6/c/e/f/g's.
The hard part would be tracking down the VC heater controls. IMO, the VCs had the better heater controls than the earlier cars.
They have three knobs to match the cigi lighter. One controls the fan, one controls the heat/demist, and one operates the the heater valve. Pretty much no val has a working oriinal heater valve. Best bet is to fit a ball valve under the dash, and just have sumer and winter settings.

Fully sick Val Cletus.

I've never even looked at it. It didn't even come with a key. It was going to be a one day job.
You can download a complete FSM at www.hondaspree.net.

There is also a hose of a similar size on the inlet manifold just below the carb which goes to the block. This has the PCV valve attached.
-
I'm not 100% sure. Only one of the flywheels will fit that crank too. I found after I put it together that only one flywheel fitted the taper on the crank.
-
It could be from being cranked for fucking ages trying to get the cunt to show spark. The gas will have fucked off, leaving the oil behind. Apart from being so fucking slow that push bikes left me for dead, it worked fine before I pulled it down.
-
The holley wont be original equipment. The holley 1920 was fitted to AP's but I'm pretty sure the VC's had the carter as standard.
I wish my VC had been as mint as that. Mine looked like it belonged to a gang.
That is one sweet wagon. I hope you're bringing it to the nats?

Delete everything bar the booster, crank breathers, and vac advance.
I'm not really very familar with all the bullshit that the later Van motors were diseased with. I might have a spare zhorst manifold without the rebreather crap on it. I might have a car inlet manifold too.

With the old school mixers, duel feul is a wank. My old man ran duel fuel on both his XW and his XD work utes. YOu can get it to run okay, on one, and average on the other. I'd just dedicate. A bloke at work is going to give me a complete Impco set up for nix. So I'm only gonna get stung for a tank retest, and a few other incidentals. LPG loves high compression. So An engine built and tuned for gas should go good, and retrun decent mileage.

I actually know the bloke who owns that place. We were mates back in the day when we were young lunitics.
He works out of the Johns rd garage though. Go see the guys at Johns rd, and casually mention that the guy wouldn't do your check. I'm sure that my mate, or his business partner will be unhappy to hear that.
I took my old VF valiant to the richmond garage in petrie st (now completely fucked from the quake) after getting rolled with no wof of rego on a friday night. Pulled up, and said, hey I need a wof. And he said, I don't want to see this car. Take it to VTNZ. VTNZ raped it with a barbed wire dildo. (Full page of defects) But I got a WOF in the end. (They actually missed the widened steelies too) Not bad for a car I paid a hundy bucks for.

So who else is gonna join the thrusday arvo convoy of epic GC-ness?
props for meeting us at das fairy terminal KK. Otherwise we'd end up getting all lost and shit. I heard that in the north island they have some roads which have two lanes going in each direction! That would be too much for a hillbilly from the south like me...........

Where is the build thread for said VC?
I owned a really dodgey mattyB one back in the day.
-
It's beautiful! Pure old school goodness!
-
Best Mr seedy, and mr KK are given a bad case of alcohol poisoning to repay the kindness.
-
Fuck this is going to be off the fucking chain!!!
-
So who and what cars are for sure Joe?
I'll have to pay you in cash, I don't have interweb banking on my daily account.
-
I'll do it. Unless someone else is gagging to do it.
you ought edit the 1st post of this thread once you have the deets KK. (But maybe leave the rego number out)
My wof is almost a sure thing. I just need to tweak the zhorst so it clears the handbrake cable, and adjust the handbrake.
-
If it runs untill it kicks out, it might be needing the extra richness to keep it running.
-
the cold start needle thingee. I dunno if yours has one, but honda scooters do.
-
I only just found this particular part of old school.
Here is my other less well known scooter skid. (There were not many OS peeps there) And it was on a patio, not in the kitchen.

Not in that PCD sorry.
Decent chance I wont be racing. I can't afford to fuck my car so close to the nats. I've broken stuff two outta my last three outings there. Probably head out for a look though.
