  1. The holley wont be original equipment. The holley 1920 was fitted to AP's but I'm pretty sure the VC's had the carter as standard.

I wish my VC had been as mint as that. Mine looked like it belonged to a gang.

That is one sweet wagon. I hope you're bringing it to the nats?

  2. Delete everything bar the booster, crank breathers, and vac advance.

I'm not really very familar with all the bullshit that the later Van motors were diseased with. I might have a spare zhorst manifold without the rebreather crap on it. I might have a car inlet manifold too.

  3. With the old school mixers, duel feul is a wank. My old man ran duel fuel on both his XW and his XD work utes. YOu can get it to run okay, on one, and average on the other. I'd just dedicate. A bloke at work is going to give me a complete Impco set up for nix. So I'm only gonna get stung for a tank retest, and a few other incidentals. LPG loves high compression. So An engine built and tuned for gas should go good, and retrun decent mileage.

  4. I actually know the bloke who owns that place. We were mates back in the day when we were young lunitics.

He works out of the Johns rd garage though. Go see the guys at Johns rd, and casually mention that the guy wouldn't do your check. I'm sure that my mate, or his business partner will be unhappy to hear that.

I took my old VF valiant to the richmond garage in petrie st (now completely fucked from the quake) after getting rolled with no wof of rego on a friday night. Pulled up, and said, hey I need a wof. And he said, I don't want to see this car. Take it to VTNZ. VTNZ raped it with a barbed wire dildo. (Full page of defects) But I got a WOF in the end. (They actually missed the widened steelies too) Not bad for a car I paid a hundy bucks for.

  5. Have you altered your air cleaner configuration?

two smokes are quite fussy about the intake restriction. It fucks with the mixture. maybe whn you bystarter (assuming it has one) kicks out it goes lean and wont run. Bogging sounds like fuel. Does it miss under load? How old is the spark plug? I've had plugs that were like new but had been fouled. And no matter how clean I got it, the damn thing wouldn't go no good.

  6. apart from the celica and lack of mitsi's, i would have to agree.

now wheres the English Domestic market list?

there isnt one , because they all blow dick .

    Quoted for truth!!!

Japanese car were everything that the pride of britania wasn't. Reliable, comfortable, well though out and designed, easy to work on, good heaters ergonomic interiors. The list goes on.

The (so called) engineers who "designed" british automobiles built cars under the premise that "suffering builds charater". And when the "impetuous" younger engineers first designed the moggy minor, the old boys didn't think it should even have a heater!

But I supose they did their best building cars in pre war factories with dirt floors. Whilest the likes of nissan and toyota enjoyed nice new factories. Plus I'd be prepared to wager the blokes in japan didn't toddle off to the pub at lunchtime and get half cut on warm beer either.

  7. Me thinks filling the fuel tank will make you cringe more. (In time anyway) Shit I hardly drive my supercharged 1500 due to fuel consumption.

  8. Bart and I, I think you mean you dirty leppa............ Speak the queens english please. lol

A small but dedicated group of GCs had a meeting a meeting at a grossly overcrowded pub yesterday evening.

    The main bullet points were,

    Leppa

    horse

    Bubbles

    Karl

    el Barto

    Andy

Rob (who was too busy eating cheese to even make an appearance)

And some other people who weren't there who I can't remember either

Are the peeps that are down for it.

It was decided when and where we're going to leave from, and for the most part what vehicles will be coming. (pending wofs and shit)

So If KK reads this before getting the txt I sent ya, we're looking at finalising the bookings quite soon. The fairest way to roll is the cost is devided up evenly among all who go. (total cost minus KK's freebie, if thats still on the table) And if you're down with it, we could all make said payment to you, to manage bookings on our behalf?

Also, are you/we able to make bookings under rego number unknown in case of a vehicular reshuffle?

I also thought about it last night, if it does get it's wof, and was packed juditously the 1200 could roll 4 up. I'm sure we could fit 4 sleeping bags and 4 toothbrushes in it. But either-either the mayhem is going to be supersweet.

    Bubbles,

Jump in with who else was down for the shizz. I had had a big day, and my brain was unable to absorb the rest of the guests list for this party on wheels.

  9. You need to see a head doctor! lol

I have a 5hp side valve on my go kart. (Only cos my dad stole the overbored Kawaski industrial for his reel mower) I did a quick google, and found that there are (unwell) people who actually love to soup them up. (you can actually buy aftermarket cams, rods, and pistons for them!) Some unwell son-of-a-bitch was clocked in his supercharged 5hp briggo powered go-kart at 145mph. 145MPH with an engine that has splash fed lubrication! Fuck that.

  10. After doing a bit of reading, I intend to run dedicated LPG on my charger. A worked muscle engine (be it V8 or Hemi 6) is thirsty as fuck! Both a bloke at work's 6 pack hemi pacer, and my old man's 340 V8 valiant destroyed $400 gas going CHCH to Alexandra and back. (About a year ago)

While it's uber sweet to have a car that goes like last weeks pay, what good is it when you can never afford to drive it?

So after flip flopping for ages, my current line of thinking is a high comp Hemi on Poo gas (Liqufied pootrolium gas) for the charger. Plus with the apropriate mods, you can run blowthrough into an impco LPG mixer. Plus LPG gives 100% atomisation, and the oil last for donkeys! Whilest ther is the small drawback of it generating fewer BTU's that gasoline, the plus's more than make up for it IMO.

Plus I've found an Impco 400 mixer set up for a song.
