    Yea just get the leaves reset and another leaf added. Will cost about $200- $250 for a pair..

    I cut my bumpstops, the cert guy didnt say anything and neither did the inspectors at VTNZ.. should be fine if you do a real good job of them.
  3. Still havn't got round to setting mine up.. Excort would you be able to chuck up a pic of the newer setup.. pretty sure thats what mine must be because the wires on the diagram above are slightly different colours to what I have aye.
  4. Havn't updated this in ages.. so for a start its now certed and the engine is run in, with all the minor problems sorted out. Lowered the front to match the height of the rear (about 3" drop all round). Got a new bonnet to replace the old dented up one (thanks rs2000 ) but yea its been in primer for the last few months, will get round to painting it soon hopefully. Done plenty of other stuff to it during/since the conversion, but cant think right now so that'll do haha.. And in no particular order, plans for the near future are: fix gearbox leak, get adjustable cam sprocket/get the existing one modified, tints, paint bonnet, fit stiffer springs up front so it doesnt keep bottoming out over pot holes etc, change diff to a 3.5 or 3.8, and uhh get a proper 1/4 mile time (in the dry with a few practice runs this time haha ) And a couple of pics (same as ones in the links above) Will try to get some more from different angles and of the engine bay soon..

  7. Yea it could be leaking where RT said.. my old motor used to do that, and I always thought it was gearbox oil until I actually smelt it..

Wasn't too bad considering it was my first time down the strip.. oh and the track wasnt completely dry, so crap launch and too much wheelspin Then just as I was about to go back out, it started pissing with rain and they called it off Oh well, will go back in the next set.. should do low-mid 15's with a good lauch+traction.. oh and the electronic ignition, and a 3.5 diff Btw: saw the Crown parked next to mobil in Mercer..

  16. You could get that much power out of it pretty easily with 1400 to spend man.. depending on how much you're intending to spend on the rebuild that is. If its a decent motor, ie the bores / pistons arent shagged then you wont be looking at much more than 300-350 to rebuild it..

    A grade exhausts in Silverdale bro.. looks kinda dodgy, but the guy knows his shit aye, hes been doing exhuasts for like 27 years or something..

    I mine was only like $200 (mild steel piping) oh yea plus 130 ish for the muffler.. (and like another $200 to mod the extractors to clear the steering column ) Try not to go to big places like Pit Stop, Midas etc, they tend to overcharge..

    They've been going on about that for ages, pretty sure its already in effect isn't it? Like can't be significantly louder than factory or something.. Just go to a proper exhaust place and they'll do it how you want. Mine's 2.5" the whole way through from the extractors with one baffled sports muffler.. never had a problem with it for WOF's (at VTNZ), although surprisingly it isn't actually very loud anyway, just sounds really deep.. But yea, what about road legal race cars like Frasers etc.. its not like they can refuse to give them WOF's for being too loud, when theyre like that standard.. they'll just have to have a lower decibel limit in place or some shit, I duno.. stupid govt

    Hey yea good point the oil pump may have fukd out.. get hold of a guage and check it bro. Although im sure youd know by now if that happened haha, but still I'd check anyway.. Should be around 40-50 psi @ about 2000rpm I think.
  22. Yep thats right, with a normal diff when you spin one wheel the other one will stay still/move only slightly. With an LSD both will turn, and there'll be abit more effort required to turn it too.
