    seat brackets?

yea just bolted up to the aftermarket seat, simple. And mikuni, the red vertical lines are the a/m seat outline, not a/m brackets

    seat brackets?

Heres a crude drawing. The black slabs are the orig seal rails and the red outline is the aftermarket seat. The blue/cyan whatever is the bits of steel that go under the aftermarket seat and bolt to the a/m seat and to the orig rails. Easiest way I could think of, and didnt require a cert or anything. Btw your sig is fucking awesome!
  3. For the fuel pump in the first picture I posted, does anyone know where I could get a banjo fitting for the outlet???
  4. Looking good! Was getting worried for lack of updates for a while there.
  5. Capri has the tank behind the rear seats/between the rear struts to. Have sussed out how I'd run the surge tank setup now, however been thinking about baffles now, or getting a bit welded into the bottom of the tank that would act like a surge tank as suggested above.
  6. I have a electric pump that used to use for the old carby motor, would that do?
  7. I dont want to run run, fuck if I keep it above 1/3-1/2 tank it'll be sweet, till I can maybe do a surge tank setup later down the track. The fact you ran it like this RT anyway seems to make up my mind. How much are these electric fuel pumps to feed the surge tankj?
  8. I see. I don't like spending money the way you put it either! Hence why I've done as much as I possibly can on this build. I had the o.e hole welded up in my fuel tank, and a outlet welded into the bottom on the tank, then a return welded into the top of the tank. I suppose this is useless now if I ran a surge tank as the surge tank would have taken care of this? Also the surge tanks I see on trademe have 4 outlets, id assume, inlet, outlet, breather? Whats the other one?
  9. Hmm, I don't want to thrash its arse off but do want to use it to its potential. Haven't skimped anywhere else so I guess it would be stupid to do so now.
  10. Methodz: I've already got the 5/16" line now so may as well use it. I think I'm going to run fuel tank>filter>pump>fuel rail>return back to tank. RT ran this setup as far as I know on his capri and had no problems with it as far as I know. Cheers for the pics of your setups to.
  11. Cheers, valuable info there, I'm not really after a "bling fuel setup" so to speak, as none of it will even be able to be seen anyway/I dont care I just want it to run Running a fuel filter much like the one you have there lowlancer, skyline type one?
  12. No they are efi rated rubber hoses. Dont have surge tank, need somehow to convert the pipe up to the bigger size on fuel pump. All good will sort it somehow.
  13. Just wondering what the best way to mount my fuel pump is, I'm going to mount it under the diff arch but am wondering the best way to mount it to the body. Heres what the fuel pump looks like: I was thinking just making like a strap thing out of some alloy I have lying round that goes over it and bolts to the body, would this be the best way, any other ideas that could be better? Don't want it falling out.. Also it doesn't say which way the fuel pump goes ie, which way is in and which is out, I'm assuming the threaded side would be the out since it has the pressure? Someone to confirm/tell me I'm wrong would be great. Now another thing is I'm running 5/16" lines I think they are (8mm more or less) and the fuel pump inlets/outlets are 10 and 12mm, so the hose wont fit over them obviously, I'm a bit stuck on the best way to somehow join the 8mm onto the larger fuel pump outlets in the best and most basic ways, hopefully someone has some ideas for that because mine seem to complicated. Next thing is the fuel lines run down the right side of the underside down the drive shaft/gearbox tunnel, at one point near the gearbox they have to run over the top of the exhaust, would heat wrapping this section of the exhaust be enough? Don't want it melting through the fuel lines!! Its probably less than 100mm away from the exhaust at this one point it has to cross over. Cheers
  14. Had a couple requests for updates etc so here a quick update. Paint job is completed and Autosalon chch has been and gone and the capri won best interior, best piston engine and oldschool champion. Heres a couple pics from the show for anyone that hasn't seen them: So basically the other night I got the starter motor in and it cranked over so was stoked with that. Now all I have to do really is pull the fuel tank out, get a return welded in and then mount the fuel pump and run run the fuel lines and it should be basically ready to fire up bar a couple more hoses to put in. Brought a boost gauge, autometer c2 series to match the rest of my gauges etc. The brakes I got from the UK which were supposed to "bolt on" are fucking far from it, I have to get some custom spacers and the mounts drilled out which is bloody annoying but nothing seems to be going easy with the capri! Thats bout it for now.

    Not cranking over

Cheers for the info, I think I ended up using your starter motor, I think it was my old one that I used to use that was bung. Glad you told me about the piston rattling etc, will continue to use the oil you did as its obviously worked for you thus far. Will bring it to chch after I get everything sorted on it for a tune id imagine, want it running at its best so dont damage it. Will still be a couple weeks off starting yet, mainly because im lazy, but a video on first fire up will happen

    Not cranking over

Changed the starter motor over and it started cranking over :D So damn happy right now, first engine noise ive heard from it in a year, now I just gota run the fuel lines and itl be ready to fire up!

    Not cranking over

OK so i just checked the other wire going to the starter motor, and when you turn the key, its getting power, so must be the starter motor then? Ive got another starter motor here, think its the same from memory, will go hunt it out and give it a try.

    Not cranking over

Just tried a volt meter on it, the batt cable to the starter motor has got power going to it.. Buggered starter motor maybe?? *Edit* Ok its not the starting motor clicking, its not the computer clicking, its one of these small black boxes that clicks when you turn the key as if you were to turn the car on, that any help to anyone trying to figure whats up here? Boxes I mean (noob when it comes to wiring etc):

    Not cranking over

Unfortunatly not! I think il go and sand down where it connects to the body some more and try get a better connection but its not looking good

    Not cranking over

Ah yes, have forgotten to put the motor to body earth cable on, hopefully thats it then, engine mount to bare metal on body somewhere will be the go there then wont it? Fingers crossed this works

    Not cranking over

Meh tryed it haha. Might not even be the starter motor clicking, could be the computer, shit this is frustrating me
  22. I went and plugged the computer back in before and now i would have thought that everything being hooked up, turning the key would at least crank the starter motor over?? All I can hear is a small click and thats about all, batt is fine to. Anyone got any ideas why its not cranking over/have a missed something obvious possibly? Keen for any ideas and help at this stage right now.. Cheers

    Lowering blocks.

I have 2" blocks and 3" reset leaves ftw, resetting leaves was only like $120 for both, definatly the way to go
  24. All the piping is different being different turbo/intercooler and all mounted slightly differently to. Yea I couldnt find a rad pipe to suit so I used your joiner and 2 rad pipes, worked mint
