christ $350 upwards on a gleason crank reclaimer, i see what you mean about throwing good money after bad
3 viable options i can see from here are->
find some sort of catalog of big end bearing sizes availiable, big end bore machined smaller.
buy 2nd hand crank (rocking horse poo)
buy new crank.

does anyone in nz besides summit engineering weld/reclaim crankshaft journals?
build up all journals and send it to a crank grinder/blancer to have a heart attack over?
failing that, where could you order white metal halfs to spec from?
cheers for any information!

too much talk of gasless wire. dont even think of using it. it is the most unworthy shit crap in the world, its made for farmers who cant arc weld to pretend to fix diggers in the wind and rain so they can sound hard at the pub on friday

no fire. just emptyed into drum too see how long it would last and get an idea of the pressure of shit coming out.
suggest you try putting out a fire with dry powder in general to see its effectiveness. (will go and get it recharged and video that at some point too i suppose)

we were a bit marginal on starting a petrol fire but that wasnt really the point of the experiment at any rate.
but thats the result. use as you like. full to empty.

if ya got hydrolic shocks, theres that big gland nut where the stainless rod comes out, take it off and put a bit of copper tube over the stainless rod, then put the gland nut back on. copper so it doesnt scratch anything
if you wanna firm up the ride put some thicker oil in while ur there (same amount that came out), and make the free length compression real tight.
works pretty good

hi, im david jackson, sentra off rotarymotion.
my freind has a 1600 datto ex rally car, hes spent a bit of time and cash on this shell, and doesnt want to start again, the problem is the car is de-registered, came with no papers, chassis plate, nothing, it has chassis number stamped to the firewall though, can this be used to track anything down?
what can be done (except chassis plates out of a registered wreck) to get it back road legal? noone at ltsa seem to know whats going on.
if worst comes to worst how hard is finding a completly stripped out yet still registered datsun 1600 wreck? also, any at wreckers anymore? any people with piles of parts?
cheers for anything
