  1. I shun repco and supercheap. They are on par with mcdonalds in terms of the calibre of their staff. BNT are the shit. Plus I get HAMMER deals there :D Rip

    Every

    Poor

    Cunt

    Off

and yeah the caliber of bnt staff is consistant fuckin a+ as opposed to sifting though the morons to find the single token good guy at each repco.

and there allways offering to put things on trade etc for no reason.

  2. if your broke and have free time why not,

if theres a glandnut on the top you can do it ultra easy,

but that shock looks like its not macpherson style suspension/even if it broke in half it wouldnt matter really.

  3. i did this when i was at school and broke as (not long ago), asking the same thing at the time someone said the only thing to watch out for was to put exactly exactly the same amount of oil back in. so yeah i did and put thicker oil back in, spaced the inner stop out with garden hose and i thought they were just the bees knees/worked fine.

if you wanted to be a full pro you could get a very fine pitch turned in the 2 cut ends of the outer body, and a internally threaded sleeve to join it all back together.

  4. does anyone know the exact rules on dented sills?

i was under the impression that it was a no-no but

my car is pretty much creased from door to door inc sills and testing station never say anything.

  6. its pretty obvious from that 'running' giveway signs and demerits for noisy cars horseshit that ms king has n.f.i about road saftey in any shape of form.

i bet everybody laughs at her behind her back in govt. even a moron can see from saying shit like that that shes living in lala land/has no credibility (even though her other points seem workable)

  7. all you motorcyclists are going to die anyway, atleast you dont have to suffer with busted organs, you just get chopped in half. youl even fit in a smaller cheaper coffin and it will be easyer on the guys cleaning up the scene only having to pick up 10kg lumps (no extra acc heavy lifting training etc)

    everybody wins with cheesecutter barriers.

  8. Your choice. Why risk it tho when you can just make 4 little brackets. Wouldnt take over an hour or so and will never break.

because if everything on my car was reliable and never broke id get bored of it and i could have used that hour doing it properly to fix some other dodgey shit id done earlyer.

  9. a point of intrest on the turbo waterlines. hundreds of factory turbo rotary motors get/got put in early mazdas and noone bothers with the waterline.

the added thing to fail, make it an extra bit harder when you have to take the turbo off as its normally in the way of the last bolt you need to undo for any job.

summing up. waterlines are gay as.

unless you plan on using your car as a taxi and doing 600,000k+ and 680 hot shutdowns a year.

  10. Try AACS on 04 3813927

The cost will vary depending on what type of gas is in the system.

If its the old type, you will need to have the system flushed and the dryer replaced, and that will be pretty expensive....probably more than a grand.

my missus had an old stuff system filled with the new type (really technical terms) im pretty sure they replaced the dryer (i dont know what this is. if it doesnt make my car go faster it goes in the bin). it was $~350 and nearly everybody quoted the same.

they said the compressor had to work a fair bit harder on the new stuff,

(you could smell the paint on the pump)

funnily enough some temprateure switch failed after 1 day on it

can you just get some old stuff from a wrecker/buy it off a broke student?

  11. isnt the motor in the orange one pretty naffed?

(it seemed that way at e.s trackday)

would be a shame not to give it a reco on its way between shells for the cost and effort involved in it.

na bey from my expert watching oppinion it was only smoking on the corners = head not draining all the oil and it going into teh manifold and burning up

out of intrest, how does the oil get into the engine through the head? get forced past the valve stems?

i apoligise in advaqnce for spamming up ur thread

  12. i love the autolock, keeps my mind ticking, sharp and on form.

is there any other odd things people do that dont make a car a total pain in the arse that you end up not doing it (i.e plug leads)

  13. i disconnected ex/internal lock mechnisms and just use the alarm.

i cant think of anyway in besides climbing over broken glass/keep expensive shit out of arms length. you cant take/force the doorskins off with the doors closed either.

just have to be concious that if you leave your keys inside for 1min with ign off, the doors will lock. its taking a big risk if something fails but meh. the odds of it failing are low & windows are cheapish.
