Most of the brake shops send their stuff here to be done too.

Keeping on theme with the left-hand side...
Rear quarter has taken a hit at some point and been "dent-pullered" out, and smoothed over.
So i un-stitched all the mess and started again.
Due to me being a muppet - lots happened and no pics got taken!!
So.. many hours of hammer and dolly, welding etc. etc.
Still have the rear valance to straighten, lengthen, and reattach..

So... sill was a little unstraight
rash from diving into a ditch in Targa at one point
So decision was to chop it out and fix it proper,

Perhaps give these guys a call https://industrialhardchrome.co.nz/electroless-nickel-plating/
-
http://electroless.co.nz/ seem to be the only ones doing the original style electroless nickel coatings .... but
"Please Note:
- we do not process car, motorcycle, firearms or aircraft parts whatsoever"
The "South Auckland" one in East Tamaki that used to do it shut down years ago
EDIT: also you can copper spray the item and have them actually chromed but a lot of detail is lost doing this.

When i got the shed built it was mandatory it was built mega solid due to a 1200dia stormwater pipe right next to it... (in case they dig the pipe out in the future)
3.3m deep piles with bridging rebar below the blocks...
then the slab was tied into the bridging.. at least i know where to run in a earthquake and i know a hoist can be fitted if wanted.

I can't find a discussion thread for your race car, but is this your car? From a post on Facebook
@Truenotch thanks - that sure is my racer. That was the first year that it ran targa. I dont have many pics of it from that year..
I was busy service crewing for this car until it fell off the road into a drainage ditch

what about that lame o new non-emergency number 105?
Lame is right - I rung 105 to report number plate of some dodgy dude that was cruising round and peering into tourist van windows in the Auckland domain. I got an IVR message saying it would be 45 mins before the call would be answered.... NOPE ... called 111 instead but turned out the number plate i got was stolen from another car anyway

It there any way you could mount a viscous hub in there or is there not enough room? They pull a shit tonne of air.
They also pull a shit tonne of horsepower out of the motor..
I gained 9-10hp on the dyno just removing the viscous fan on my celica.

Motivation = 110% currently
Front guard repairs this time - repairing what "Patch Adams" has done in the pastDiscovery phase:
10mm+ of Bog!!
Past repairs
Only one option - cut it all off
and patch it up
weld it together
And - patched
- now to find time to prime and fill the small hollows..

As well as the underside/diff above, In parallel i was called up by an upholsterer (Grant) I have been on a waiting list for about 2 years...
He is known world wide for the fantastic replica celica seat covers he makes.
I have had a roll of the original rare GT seat vinyl material squirreled away for years, waiting for the right time to redo the seats. I also sourced some seat vents that were as close to the originals i could get. Plus I sourced a second lot of Ivory vinyl to do the RA28 celica too - so i got 2 sets made by him.
So i gutted the interior out.
The back seat frames are known to get damp and rust ..
So i repaired it
and repainted it in copper paint like original. And repainted the back too.
cleaned/painted the rails and tilt mechanisms
I got the seat covers re-fitted by Grant and reassembled SLEEEK's seats at the weekend.
He also kindly remade the original handbrake and gearstick boots

so i scrubbed, cleaned, sanded, and painted it.
and - finally put the diff in..
