  1. nah i know what BDAs are but what are BDGs?

BDGs are a 2lt version. With a whole new block made by cosworth i htink, and a BDA head. if you get what i mean, the end letter is just the different capacity.... Big Dave will know more no doubt.

I think you can get a BDJ whick is 1100 or something... hehe, could be wrong tho. But a BDG block costs around 3000 pounds or something crazy.

  2. Hey Dave, long time no see! Glad to hear the eskys came over ok.

You say your YB has a 205 block?? Im not sure, i might be confussed, but do some of the 80s Sierras have a sohc pinto with a 205 block? Or is that block just for Cossies?? Also there are non Cossie Saphires over here, with a dohc 2lt, would this have a 205 block?

If i think what im saying (in a round about way :D) is true, then could you grab a 2lt sierra and slap a Cossie head on it? Or am i way off.

    Cheers,

    Shaun.

  3. and do you know the colour of the RS1800???

If its a genuine RS1800 then it will be white with blue stripes down the side. God knows how much money it is worth if it is a genuine one, there were only 109 road going ones that left the factory.

  4. cough..probably not the right attatude but if you really need the car grab some std wheels and get your warrent, go back to your mags once you figure out the problem or something...

  5. Nah, im pretty sure a std 12a makes around 140hp. Or thats what my mate told me, and hes a rotor head. He wants to rotorize his oldskool bemma with a 12a bridgy. hehe, rotor head.

  6. I struggle to see how 1600 will be similar price to a 4a-ge or sr20.

A good 1600 xflow could set you back 300-500$ depends on any mods or condition. A 4a-ge and t50 box will probably set you back 1000$ and then you have to get the loom too, and a sr20det maybe 2000$??

Dont quote me on the prices but id say there is a differnce.

  7. my escort does 50kph in 4th at about 2000rpm (1.3L)

Haha, try doing 140k with a 4spd. wound (sp?) it up the other day, bout 8 in the morning, stuff all cars around on the m'way, turned the beats up to drown out the whine, lol.

As for project, i just got the 1300 esky atm, looking for a 2dr to do up but I need some ka-ching-bling-bling.

  8. Nah, all rs2000s had the droppy front. Some escorts came out with 2lts but wernt rallye sport editions and therefore didnt have all the strengtening and other features like the droppy nose.

there used to be one model rs2000, but in '77 or '78 they changed it so there was a base model, and a custom model which had added luxuries and also a vinal roof with sunroof. There was also a 'series x' model which was brought out that had a tuned pinto @ around 150hp, and a wide body kit and other bits and bobs.

dam, i know too much about esky's hehe :)

  9. daym, that esky sounds the shit, It'll be sad if you have to sell it after you put all that work in.

I dont think i could ever sell an esky like that, and i wouldnt mind seeing pics either :P

  10. I'm not to sure about Familia discs but a mate told me you can fit whole mr2 front struts with some modification, not to sure where he got that info from though.

I know you can put seirra front struts and rotors etc into an esky if you shorten them or something. Got some measurements somewhere around.

Not to sure if that helps you though...

  11. Holy crap. And I thought it was just me.

I took out the carpet one day and me and a mate ran water over the car for 10min but with no success. Did some prodding around and looks like maybe someone has tried to fix the problem before i had it by putting that sealent stuff arounf the edges of the dash on the underside (hard to explain). Mine generally only leaks heavily during heavy rains, and so my carpet is now rooted on the drivers side :(.

So yea, any help would also be appreciated over here :).

And btw, also check your boot, mine leaks and sometimes pools up where the spare tire sits and also under the fuel tank. Easily solved that by making a couple holes to let the water drain out.

edit/ kyteler bet me. will look over that on mine during the weekend, cheers bro. :D
