Anyone had to take off the steering wheel on a mk2? I got a new wheel an boss kit i wanna chuck on but cant get the old fukn thing off. Tried evrything aye, 3 people pulling at in an then hitting it with a block of wood and it wouldnt budge.

I heard of a steering wheel puller, kinda like a wine bottle opener, kinda pulls an pushes in the centre at the same time, anyone heard of them?

Yea there was a shelf but it was made of 2mm cardboard almost, not good enough for me. I got some wood and made it a little lower than the original shelf an chucked the head unit on that, with it lower you can still squeeze your arm in to get to the boot release amongst all the wiring.

Hey guys, i got a 79 mk2 aswell, shud show you where i mounted my headunit, its on the rite of the steering wheel, i made a shelf in between the key an the side of the car, works like a charm, as for the 6x9's, i atempted making a new parcel tray but gave up, the existing curved one is a pain aint it, so i just got sum $50 fusion boxes an have them on the floor behind the front seats, also effective.

As for the rest of the car, stock an pretty straight, gonna take the engine out soon though as i cooked the original one... not good.
