What is that?
That is what everyone asks.
76 Lotus Eclat. Unfortunately. It has grown on me. I bought it sight unseen over covid and it has been a back burner project since due to being far, far, far more f*cked than advertised. Nearly there though. Chinesium wheels to check fits and clearances, didn't want to buy some custom drilled ones to find my calculations were wrong. They're 15x8 0p and seem to sit well on it.

Agree, but 2 full size hoists would be a lot faster

Just watched his car stacking video. Good on him. But I bet he wishes he built his shed slightly higher to have a standard clear floor. Like I am now...
But it certainly has some positives. I just thought about pouring a separate pad outside the shed for serious underbody cleaning, mount the hoist on it, lift car, clean car, put hoist away and not demo the hoist leaving it outside. That may have sealed the deal.

Max lift of 1.5 may leave a bit hanging down for storing another car under it is my only concern. It would be in place 90% of the time for me any way, its more the clear floor with no height problems that makes me want it. Adjust the normal clear floors is also in option, but I CBF.

Anyone ever used one of these before?
https://stradalifts.co.nz/product/sl271 It looks like it'll do most of what I need in the shed I should have built 500mm taller. Never used one or seen one installed though.
Thoughts?

Hey team.
I am in a pickle and have a question I hope y'all can help with.
I am a sicko and own a Lotus Eclat which needs far more work than the advert described. I have rebuilt the steering rack and in my haste I binned the old tie rod ends because I had been supplied new ones by the local Lotus parts bro. Alas they do not fit in the steering arm which is apparently from a TR6 or Vitesse (the rest of the front hub set up is also).
The steering arm is 14.5mm thick and the narrow taper is 13mm, the wide taper is 14mm. The tie rod ends supplied which are apparently correct for the car are 12mm and 13mm taper. I cannot find any ball joints that are the correct dimensions at the moment (i'm only home one or two nights a week to try and sort this kerfuffle.) The tie rod is a 1/2 UNF female.
Does anyone happen to have a steering arm on hand from the above vehicles to measure to see if someone has hodered out the holes for the tie rod end to fit ones they had access to and now I need new steering arms, or preferably, do you know where I might find some tie rod ends that fit?
Chur in advance and sorry for my novel.

Fingers crossed.
Onehunga's 50min walk from me. My Jag is at a brake place in Onehunga, but hopefully they either didn't get flooded or the Jag was up on a hoist. Water a quarter of the way up my doors would have got in my ECU.
Sorry to hijack thread but if your jag is white and at sterling clutch and brake then yes it was on a hoist in the air, at least on Friday arvo when I was there..

Cheers. Local BNT sadly have not been overly interested in anything odd that wasn't on the shelf.. Will give Sterling a call.

G'day
Need to make new lines for my Eclat and there is a mix of M12x1,M10x1 and 3/8 UNF hardware. No where seems to have it all in stock in one place, does anyone have any recommendations for who might hold a good selection in stock?
Cheers

Gday all
A recent outing involved rescuing a cb550k4 from the depths of a hoarders shed.
Of course there are no keys, and naturally I want to make it go.
Any one know of any codes I can look for for a locksmith?
Cheers in advance, long shot I know.

Time for a smol update on the fiat.
Have been chipping away with making patches and buying parts/paint stripping etc.
Gave the mrs a wind up about getting motivated to finish it and she pushed me in to actually buying parts.
Parts are in the country but the a holes at customs forgot to process the gst invoice so I'm back to bodywork.
