Yea, I considered paying a contractor, best quote from 3 was $4k, with a 5 week wait.

It is a blocked/ worn out field drain from my septic tank system. I'm creating a new section of field drain to dispurse the fluid from the system. In town you just hook up to the sewer, in the country you need your own system. Soak holes do the same job but the water table is too high where i am, so field drain is the best option.

Been doing mantenance at a local mill for quite a few years in return for timber for home renos. Decided it was time for a new outdoor ale consumption suite. grabbed half a dozen slabs of macrocarpa and set to them with chainsaw, belt sander and paint brush. Took a month of weekends but not a bad result for a alcoholic with a roofing problem
