    have to take my rotored van too...

    ive got 3 projects right now...the esky,the van (engine will be in on sunday),and a s1 rx7...but thats almost sold now though...

    cant wait to see how the esky goes ae...

    the panel work isnt mint cos i never had the time to spend on it,it needs another paint cos i didnt give it a cut and polished and all the dust n shit in the shed has made it crap...it also got a bit of "bloom" when i painted it....gonna respray it in a week or 2 in gloss black with a silver pearl... :wink:

    all i have to say is if you want to turbo any old school car,use a subaru turbo,they have all the pipes and shit coming out in the right places....easy to hook up...

    dont know if i could stuff around with the rx7 seats,1 side is about 20mm higher than the other!so ill have to make custom rails etc...

    but ive sat them in there and they look so mint,look almost factory fitted...

    anyone got any tail light housings to sell me?not the lenses but the part that holds the bulbs and the lense screws onto...

    or where can i get new parts?

  3. im alomost finished putting my escort together and going at last...

    just gotta get the damn turbo manifold made,then the carb manifold,and oil/water lines to the turbo.....

    its a 2dr,used to be a auto..

    so far ive done:

    painted gloss black,imported clear tail light lenses and front indicator lenses,lowered in the back(yet to do the front),added a genuine front spoiler,put on HPC 1/4 bumpers,HPC crossmember/brake booster,dropped in a decompressed cortina 2L,rebuilt with chromolly rings,rs2000 4spd box,garret intake manifold,vf10 suby turbo,45mm dellorto side draft carb,using a b2000 radiator,1 piece driveshaft,2 1/2" exhaust right through,oil/water/volt gauges in the center,tacho on the dash,12" leather wheel,13" deepdish hotwires,chrome rear bumper(gotta get it HPC'd,the entire engine(unboltable bits) are HPC'd in polished look...... :twisted:

    currently friggin round with the gearbox crossmember so i can get into the exhaust shop on monday...and trying to sort out whether to drop in my rx7 seats,or stick with autosport seats and put 2 subs in the back seat...oh and the roof lining.....

    then i gotta sort out my plates cos some prick stole them out of my legacy.... :oops:

    theres quite a few soobys in the south island,but theyr non turbo...slow as goats....

  5. take the wheel off and check if theres any wear on the strut....if it is your in shit...you can use spacers but im sure theyr illegal....

    put some lower profile tyres on those wheels son....you should get 205/50s on them beasties.....

    spitfires look sort of like tridents....but usually polished hard out....

  6. theyr bloody cheap in the us ae......guys try to sell them for mega bucks here but you cant rhd convert them without a pile of hassle...the steering swap is easy as with a b1600..same chassis except for the front clip..

    but the dash would be a bitch ae?

  7. i had 2 switches in my ute.....one for ignition and fuel pump,and the other was for the fan....plus it had a alarm with remote start,2 sirens always helps too..i had one hidden in the engine bay (could never find it) and one in the main pillar insde a vent type thing covered in valour.....loud as a mofo....you couldnt sit in it when it goes off ae....oh and it was at head hight..

  9. dont bother...that ad is for aussie only....the guy that made it patented it over here for gaurd rolling purposes.so if you buy one to use for gaurd rolling you could be sued....not worth it....just a warning...i know someone that bought one from aussie,now he cant use it.legally that is...

  10. haha yeah for sure big tymer...but i dont have my ute(rx3ute) no more......esky dont have a "chassis" like a ute........

    if i did still have my ute itd have a irs lsd rear end with coilovers and dropped spindles and coilovers on the front....

    but even with the coils and leaves that were in it it was still lower than quest4s ute ground0...strange ae...

  11. yeah but they can always say "that suspension set up wasnt like that when i certed it"......

    think about it.....you take your car for wof with chopped springs....dude says "no cert no wof",so you put some standard springs in it....take it back,he gives you a wof.....you go home and put the chopped springs in it......

    responsibility solely lies with the owner of the vehicle,thats what i think anyway,unless its a prob with rust or brakes or seatbelts......

    i know,ive been in that situation where i swapt my springs for a wof....i cant be bothered cutting corners now ive had too many fines n shit...

    y i asked for help?cos i see so many escorts sitting on their arse and i wanna know how they got them so damn low....having ppl tell you what to do and being givin advise is 2 totaly different things....

  12. you know the worst thing is when you read the paper(yeah i can read)....and you see...illegal boyracer driving uncertified rotary car looses wheel on motorway causing chaos....

    ive heard of a few people crashing from going round a corner and thiwer spring drops off the side of the strut....thats because they werent held in by tabs,or mainly cos they cut too much off the coils.....i cut one coil off the front of my ute,it slammed nicely,the springs wouldnt even turn in the seats when it was jacked up...i wouldnt dare to cut off more....

  13. when i sat cut i only mean by 1/2-1 coil not in half.....if you cut them so that they pop off the base then your just a fagg...but ive never had probs with spring seating...

    who sells spax coils?kings are to stiff i thought,dont slam near as much as compressed....

  14. i just had the rear gaurds on my legacy rolled last night....

    come up really mint....took almost an hour but the job was worth it...

    only cost $50 per gaurd....

    hes gonna come back to lip and pump my escort gaurds....

    well worth it guys....you should all get it done....
