  1.  Yup there’s the  cletus seal of approval

Well worth checking out crossover steering to sort a lot of problems in one go

I think I was down to last days before repay for another cert check so went with the option that was already half built

Cheers, got photos? I’ll probably ended up needing this also

No photos it was a while back now but was on the modern Lvv cert system

Basically 2 bits of 5mm steel plate shaped to the diff tube and boxed in to replicate the mount on the diff pumpkin but on left hand side and slightly lower mounting ears at the top for more clearance - that’s why it needed the adjustable arm

Also had to replicate the upper mount on the crossmember / chassis that it mounts to

Had a look at my old thread on off-road express circa 2007 but pics are long gone

Does seem if you go to the “crossover “ steering conversion then the torque arm becomes obsolete and frees up a lot of room and more flex for serious off-road and may be easier

  3. Yup torque arm on front axle gets in the way of most sumps

My “cough” RV8 lux had no torque bar when I bought it and hitting the brakes hard made front axle roll forward on springs - wheels go to left - steering wheel goes to right - very very frighteneing

Made a new mount on axle other side from the pumpkin and fitted adjustable torque bar from nz4wdbits - sorted and certed

  4. Utes all came with low bonnet and Ute grill ( eggcrate) -except xr models

waterfall grill was yes only the pov spec forte

Grill interchange is 2 minutes on anything with low bonnet and maybe 10 minutes to swap to high bonnet and any matching grill - again except  XR models

  5. Yup the 600cc + rego cost is a rip -note the new husky is 599cc for a reason

Yes bmw parts and servicing is expensive ( unless you diy and buy genuine bmw bits from aliex cos bmw made gs650s in loncin factory for about 2 years ) 125$ for starter sprag clutch bearing instead of $450

Silver wing actually looks ok for an armchair how many cc are they ?

  6. 180 km per day on a lams bike ? BMW f650 on road tyres - comfy grunty enough to have fun and get out of trouble easy to maintain and learn to look after - I have the CS 17” street tyre belt drive version - good for short persons and can get lowering kits - will do 100kmh easily in 3rd 5spd but you are looking at $5k secondhand

  7. Yup au1 are small rotor single piston on front

Au2 on are 2 pot or better and larger rotor and will fit any brake upgrade from any of the later ba-bf including the brembos

Front struts are different - au1 caliper is in front of strut au2 on is behind strut

Gotta swap lower arms and sway to swap the struts - its on the plan for my au1 ute yes the brakes are shit and I have the au2 stuff sitting here

  8. Just got our China trademe special 7x4 trailer it’s  second wof after 3 years use (half price imports chch ) wof guy said at first warrant wow that’s way more quality than the m10 ones

Only thing I have noticed is the axle itself is surface rusting as it’s not galv

Jockey wheel handle broke off first week just zapped it back on and the sheet of untreated ply I threw in the deck needs replaced soon

Tipper or tilt ? Hydraulic or winch tipper is lots more $ - have only used the tilt on ours for loading motorbikes and for offloading huge concrete pipe offcuts I dragged home

  9. Ah ok  I meant I didn’t know that  Te v8 and flat deck together was an option back then - that looks like a home built deck steel and wood not the alloy factory version

Still not getting the rare and expensive pricing but hey it is a Facebook dreamer ad

  10. Yeah cool nothing like buying local and with such good history

You know I have a particular hate for the TK but the twin headlights do help - my bro has one same size but twin underbody tipper hoist not sure on motor but it’s jap diesel -similar history bought off an old boy on a Southland farm

no one wants the original 214/300 petrol or the Bedford 330 diesel except maybe one extreme Barry - converted ones are worth way more

Throttle linkage - ha wait til you see the brake linkages to master cylinder lol

No tilt cab means way easier to put loft over cab - can’t wait to see what you come up with for design - pop out kitchen on one whole wall works well on that size

Not always.  Seen a few loads leaving virgin flat road on his trucks with nothing tied

That’s why I was surprised - classic belcher - doesn’t own a tailgate or ramps for his digger - drops shit all over the road - doesn’t give a fuck has no licence to lose = a critter from a different time still out there doing it like it was still the 1930s
