Mazda Mx5 cheap as chips and look quite retro and can get custom faces for them

Like the “engineer” who was certifying heavy truck tow systems that was a muppet and had all his certs recalled
Modified vehicle is a specialty not for your average engineer

Yeefucken ha it lives …
After much mucking about for the last few weeks finally sorted and configured link to make some noise
Engine wiring only basically breadboarded for testing just the basics crank trigger ignition injectors and fuel pump and TPS
Spent so much time chasing why it would spark fine on ignition test but not when cranking - read so much link guide and forums and was almost convinced the Toyota coils I have were dumb but no
Triple checked that no odd settings were doing engine kill and that all was as it should be - trigger scoped many times - changed crank sensor - nope
Changed trigger 2 to “hall sensor “ sync = none …and I am only using trigger 1 36-1 wasted spark
and it fucken just started and idled lumpy as
Now to get some cooling hooked up tidy and wrap wiring and get some fluids into box and clutch hydraulics

Would love to have a car on lpg but there is none where I live even when the websites say there is a full station …
When I had one on dedicated lpg ran max ignition advance lpg has a higher cetane rating but the flame front is slower - modern duel fuel should do best of both by switching ignition map when fuel switches

when you get near the end of the thread you'll find there's a fall out with some of the others and he moves the thread over to this new forum...
Thanks for that link I had missed where he went and was just seeing the odd bit on Insta
Great story teller

Yup have seen the maloo ute Pontiac conversions
Aussie car prices seem mental at the moment the dream of owning an XA or XB coupe is long gone without lotto money even the XA utes are skyrocketing and can now buy an El Camino or yank coupe cheaper
-
Imagine what an AU would be worth in the states ?
what would be their equivalent ? The crown Vic ?
We need our own shipping line - export Barra engines and Au s and Morris minors to the USA - stock up on nice yank tanks - home via Japan for rare jdm parts and top up with Mx5 hardtops to pay for the fuel bill- 1

and EL GTs
I have seen an EL GT and in a shed under a cover was the best place for it - supermegafugly with tumors and warts
Made AUs look quite good in comparison

Hey I have a reg on hold au on my back lawn - is it now worth fixing the rust ? Probably not I keep meaning to strip it for parts for my ute but then if someone gave me $500 it would be not my problem anymore
No way can you buy a reg and almost wof au for $500 like I did 3 years ago
And Mx5 tax has already skyrocketed- I could now get $3500 for the hardtop roof by itself - paid 2800 for the car 6 years ago and hardtops were about $1000 then

Undo the reg off the bottle when not using it and they seal themselves
Last about ten minutes full on welding so not cheap unless you buy on special and just use for the odd thing you need better welds than gasless - I burned thru 3 then just got a rental D cos that was pretty much the cost of a years rental
Plus buy another reel of wire to use with gas and swap polarity on welder

Yeah nice -just drop that off at my place thanks

Already has the heavy duty spring set in the ute … that “ upgrade” linked above for wagons is only rated for 395 kg lol

Ok I think I have found the answer to the question “is there anything an AU falcon can’t do ?”
ton of coal on the ute and ton of coal on the trailer was very fucking sketchy and had some mudflap on road noises on bumps and corners - also stayed below 70kmh or things got all wanderyHalf ton on the ute last time was no problem - maybe I need a heavier bullbar or some tractor weights on the front

Built a ghetto sheet metal folder thingy on the end of my welding table
2 sections of grader blade from the scrap bin at work and some gate hinges from m10 +angle iron for handles+ random bolts and some old handles from my hoard - also has some cut spring from a fox 40 bicycle fork so it springs back up for loading and unloading
Not bad radius on the bends may need to reinforce and tension the middle of the blades

Been looking at this stuff too - Eastwood do a set of tube beading dies that does not fit any of their 22mm shaft rollers …only for their motorised 3/4 shaft machines
looking at the tube only machine on trademe or aliex it seems it wouldn’t be that hard to make a set of tubing dies
Eastwood also do a “heavy duty “ 8 in throat roller and it’s only $275

24v system charges at 24 or above but each battery only sees 12v
do a quick multimeter check will show you what I mean
Treat each battery as seperate with insulated clips - balanced charging would be nice but not essential
-
Nope battery’s in series for 24 volt don’t equalise between themselves
can charge one or the other while connected to vehicle easy as on solar as long as you don’t muck polarity up -
matched solar 12v on each battery would be best or switch one between as needed
charging rates may be different but that’s what the regulator is for

Right you electrical wizards
Looking at buying a swim spa to install down the back of section behind the shed - electrical requirements are hardwired 1x 32amp and 2 x 10 amp
When we did shed power we did think of small spa and ran extra / also have a caravan circuit and plug down there but our sparky who installed is incommunicado
Shed board has 63amp rated main switch if that means anything
Any ideas why a swim spa needs 3 hardwired inputs ? Is the average home switchboard that then runs 60+ metres to a shed board then another 20m gonna cope with the draw ?
