  1. What a true kiwi legend. Cheers buddy. Sorted from Tauranga to the start point. I think the QCR boys are staying in town the night before the ride. Maybe we can do a TGA - WHK vehicle convoy.
  2. Feeling pretty positive after yesterday. Got the shocks all mounted properly, rear wheel mounted properly. Seat mounted properly. Tank is almost there, got the last bits for the front wheel to be mounted today. Engine is mounted sweet. Chain and front sprocket aligned. All thats really left is wiring, front wheel mount, front guard mount and paint. Wiring is gonna be a multicore flex upto the front from the middle, then the brake light and rear indicators are the only things that need power in the back. My stepdad is a licktricity genius. So wiring's sweet. Only issue is my rack ain't gonna work. Guess I gotta pack lighter. Excitment. Even had a little engine-less roll down the drive way! Here's half way through yesterdays effort:
  3. Making steady progress. Got 90% of the mounting issues sorted. Teaches me for buying a basket case Honda. Yes you can nuts to butts also. May end up becoming one with the other person though after a bumpy road.
  4. Here’s my favourite ever NBC type Honda. It’s the Dream from Thailand. I dunno why more people don’t like them. They scrub up real nice. Yours is looking mint!
  5. Got Monday off. Time for the bike build to kick into overdrive.
  6. I consider you an organiser @Vintage Grumble you don’t complicate anything. Cant wait to ride with ya. Also yeah old mate has a BBQ. Can stock up in Jizzbourne and strap someone to the ute and have snags whilst riding.
  7. Remember this is an event and it has organisers, whom are organising the event in the back ground and doing a damn fine job. Not trying to tell grown men how to suck eggs. But last year we had no clue what was happening till each day arrived and it was fine. Personally when I make events, people trying to decide what happens for me is up there on the top of the ‘frustrating’ list. @johnnyfive is a ledgeund for opening up this idea him and @Vintage Grumble had to the world and making it what it is. Nothing wrong with getting excited and discussing things, as that’s what this whole thread is for. But if anyone has any direct concerns about stuff maybe just message J5 or one of the dudes that went last year to clarify that point. Bring ya bikes, bring ya good attitude, and remember that’s despite one of us riding off the road and into the drain and another riding straight off a cliff, we all survived. Im keen as fuck to see more deets on what people are riding and such. I’m probably taking a day off soon to get the bulk of this thing ready Anyone got any shake down rides planned?
  8. Let’s all just turn up and see what the boys have sorted. Keen. Heres my bike. Apart for the 90th time.
  9. Weow! Time for pre cape massive fangs. Also for whom it may concern; Darren Green at shore50s.co.nz has 125 semi auto Lifans available! $379 I think.
  10. It wasn't in any way running or close too it when it left mine, not sure how much @Shakotom did but it needs a bit of work I think.
  11. Thats not a huge, but not a quick ride over the hill and half way to the lighthouse. Probably 30 minutes or so. Aka; not the goods after more than a couple of beers.
  12. It's a bit of a different world out there. @HighLUX, your opinion? Would you find your stuff for sale at the local foursquare the next morning if you slept publicly? Or safe as?
  13. For anyone who may/may not be panicking RE: Bach full. Don't worry too much! The Hicks Bay Motel & Lodge is about 3 fingers widths away from the rough location of the bach on google maps. As demonstrated by my epic drawing here:
  14. Just forced 4 non OS-ers/seldom users of OS who were keen to sign up to actually do it. Weow. The excitement grows.
  15. +1. The event has an organiser. They'll sort out the event - thats what they're for. Riders only need sort out their bikes and arrive. Literally nothing else. Not toilets, nor paper, nor air freshener. Let the dude who came up with the ride do his things and stuff.
  16. Everyone just worry about your bikes. Support vehicles and stuff will be there. It’ll all be sorted. Aim to be self sufficient. This is a weekend ride with the boys, not Paris to Dakar. Anyone got a food caravan to follow the group? Also if someone owns a helicopter to follow and spot from the air that’d be great /sarcasm. Remember AA+ exists if you’re that worried and will pick you up anywhere in the country and take you anywhere you need to go.
  17. In discussion at the moment. J5 will make the call and update stuff when stuff is decided.
  18. On it! Looking at 2. The OG ute with box trailer and also messaged @Thphantum as he's keen as beans. His boss is insisting he goes. Also We need more room for bikes than people. Half these bikes have room for 2 people. So 2 up till your bike is fixed is the way to go IF the unforseen happens. Makes for awesome filming opportunities too. Plus who doesn't enjoy a little nuts to butts? Will update later re: Support Vehicles. Hows those panniers @Vintage Grumble
  19. Fuark me 31 already! There’s a few names I don’t see there of people that are definitely coming too. Gonna be a big one people!
  20. A dude on my Facebook group found a bunch of old stock windscreens for Honda c90’s. FOAMERS picked up 5. Because where else can you get Japanese made small bike windscreens for next to nothing $$$-wise. Keen as to rock one for Eastcape!
  21. For people worrying, if anyone is. Remember not to worry if you can’t change it. Support car? It’ll be there. Don’t worry. Roads? They'll be there, don’t worry. We only had 2 months notice for the last Eastcape. Anyone second guessing themselves; I highly recommend reading the 2017 Eastcape thread from start to finish. Might take an hour or so; but I did it the other night and it answered every question I had.
  22. Support car is last. Aka: follows the whole pack. Otherwise if someone cooks their bike etc; it won’t be much use if it’s in front. Does your bike work? Have you ridden it a few hundred km before east cape? Answer yes to both? Then you have nothing to worry about nothing except your beer choice.
  23. Support car is last. You're good. Everyone, remember the second most important thing before beer is to make sure you do a giant skid before Eastcape, video it and show us.
