  1. Yeah everyone is more than welcome to do what they find more interesting; or pest from place to place. I think he's a 5 minute ride from the motel up the coast. I may be offering non drunk doubling services. May also take people around on my bike if they're too drunk to ride. But we'll see what happens.
  2. Shannon who is on the list but not on old school has reached out to me re: the second night in Gisborne. He’s from there and has a house; he knows some of the Tauranga engineering crew from last year through work. Sounds like he may be having a wee congregation at his on the Saturday night and if people want somewhere to smoke beers and drink cigarettes then everyone on the ride will be more than welcome. May work out better than 20 hour waits for food and the staff being intimidated by burley bikers at Smash Palace. Each to their own of course; but the offer is there. Edit: Space for skids apparently.
  3. One year ago yesterday an unassociated group of bikers finished a ride formerly known as Eastcapescapade:
  4. The past 2 years we’ve been arriving around 7. On the road 8-8.30 at the latest.
  5. Also just hoping the support cars have room for riders? Haha. Sound like a few people just coming along for shits and giggles..
  6. Yeah 3 would be a bit annoying. @johnnyfive‘s call, it’s his ride. While it’s a popular event it’s still just a wicked idea he wanted to do one time that’s grown a large amount. It would be nice for John to be able to enjoy the ride instead of spend 3 days managing people and worrying about who is where. Managing a ride of 50 people on a route of 45km was difficult enough for 3 of us a while back. 40 people over 3 days on some very remote areas with zero reception is going to require all of us to be on our A game. It’s not really for anyone else to decide what happens with support cars and other ride details except John. Having extra people following for lols ain’t the goods. If people are planning on being in a support vehicle maybe triple check with him first for confirmation if it’s needed. I really hope people are doing some solid shake down runs on their bikes Think of stuff like spare throttle cable, tyre levers, the tools needed to remove your front or rear wheel from the bike. Wet weather gear. Warm riding gear. Last year it was sunny and awesome a lot of the way but Motu had its own crazy climate and I was surprised how cold I got. A small first aid kit is a good idea. If you’re coming in a small group then chat to each other and figure out where everyone has their stuff stored in case something untoward happens. This is the highlight of my 2 wheel event calendar every year. I can’t wait to come ride with ya dudes and then get home safe in one piece. See if I can make it 2 out of 3 events without injury.
  7. Pick 'em up and quick sale to the local Mob before dinner. Cash for beers that night. Easyyyyy.
  8. The locals will support anyone who gets left behind I'm sure.
  9. Just a couple of different tyres I'm sorting for a random non associated group ride at the end of the month Have placed the 15" Shinko SR241 (Goldenboy) next to 2 different tyres. This photo: - Shinko 520 'Holeshot': 70/100-17 - Shinko SR241: 250x15 This photo: - Shinko SR241: 250x15 - Journey Knobbly: 275x14 If you want tyres and tubes sorted I can help till the weekend before the ride - anything later is cutting it too close. Just let me know.
  10. Turn off the form eh g. Hahaha dang. So many people to not be associated with. I look forward to randomly bumping into some people on bikes at the end of the month.
  11. Did you do the @Raizer endorsed essential China champhering service before install? That sucks though. Was keen to know what it went like.
  12. Not sure tbh. Stopped following that page intently when I stopped having a GN; just see it pop up a few times a year. Mostly fellas in South America it happened to. But a couple of UK dudes too.
  13. Everything runs fine till it doesn't. Do a skid bei.
  14. Be careful with the BBK G. Seen some WILD blown to fuck engines on the GN250 owners club FB page. Mostly due to people running them really lean and not rejetting etc. Obligatory 'not the same. 250 isn't 125 etc etc.' Otherwise someone would be bound to say it.
  15. Getting some stuff ready for one of the bikes coming this year, new tyres and such. Same as last year I can provide spare tubes if needed but you need to message me with what you want and send the cash through before I get them. Lemme know.
  16. You'd be an absolute numpty to ride 600km in shorts. Especially if you enjoy having skin. But once we're off the bikes for the day you better be naked.
  17. Got a pic sent of this the other day. Nothing like an FMF chamber on a farm bike. Apparently it's rather nang-ey. Not long till this event happens!
