This k11 appreciation is a gateway to more complex problems.
she does really like her car though, maybe I need to introduce her to this thread

@malarky has been spreading anti-K11 sentiment on the underground chat networks. I think action needs to be taken.
My mum has one, which makes them extremely undesirable vehicles

Hah, old bikes and tyre sizes, taking the wheel in should save you a lot of bother if it’s a truly odd ball size and make sure you talk to someone who knows their bikes and tyre sizes

(I worked at a larger bike shop and the amount of staff who only knew three tyre sizes was embarrassing)

So I was driving along springston-rolleston rd and spotted a lonely type 3 sitting in a paddock, made a few inquiries and left my number with a guy that knew the owner.
This was all wishful thinking, I’m not a VW person and I don’t have the money space or time to become one but if you are and you’re looking for a Type 3 I’m happy to pass on the owners details. Just send me a pm- 2

I doubt they're that desirable, its usually the frame (handbuilt, high end etc), the rear hub and crankset that give away the original build quality. $50 - $100 would be a reasonable price Id imagine. In my mind it kind of goes worst to best, single speed hub, single with back pedal, Sturmey 3sp, 3sp w/brake and 3sp w/dynamo
The Raleigh looks to be the better bike, given a tickle up and a wicker basket on the front some hipster will pay more, and they're getting a much better quality "vintage" bike that what you buy new for ~$250

I'm wondering if anyone else is running KYB socks and found their longevity lacking. The story is, around 5/6ish years ago I got myself a whole set of lowering springs and socks, for more low and super speedy corners in a Starlet. Fast forward to last years wof, the F/R sock as been leaking and needs replacing, current wof, R/R shock as been leaking and snapped off the diff mount eyelet.
Maybe something can be attributed to somewhat hoon driving but I do kind of expect them to last a little longer than what they have... Are Munroe a superior product?

Soo, I'm wanting something to eat away rusty bits before I can weld in new metal, will this be any good for several patches and then selling/passing off

I guess it's a step up from those handheld Supercheap doodads but is it up to the job?

I've got one in Central, oldie but a goodie no load leveller though

It really depends on what the sticker and paint are made of, I personally would start with hot water, meths/turps, brake clean, if it still isn't budging, acetone, cum clean, thinners etc

Tyres burn best at night, $5 a tyre adds up very quickly...

You got ripped off, I picked up a Personal (made in Italy) wood wheel for $10 at the swap meet
