  5. B310 strut top mod into the b210. this lowers it by about 30mm by bringing the strut further up. You need to prise the lip with a cresent gently
  6. Rear L/h lower quarter. There is a drain hole here which seems to get clogged with gunk and must rust out the steel around. The lower area was rusted also, so re stitched and plug welded it in
  7. Roof gutter was rusty and unstitched
  8. Roof seem was a bit rusty. Also the battery box was almost non existant, so a new piece was made to replace.

  16. So then the rust work started. Around August 2018. Much more than we expected, that seems to be the way it goes. This was the passenger foot well, the seem which connects the floor pan to the sill region
  17. Painted parts baking in the sun New bushes sourced and put in.

  19. Discussion for my sisters project Project thread:
  20. Some before images, this was around 3/4 years ago. Car was sitting with a ministocker ready to have the running gear taken, the lady who owned it before managed to T-bone it though a roundabout. Luckily this just bend the B pillar and the doors. Out came the engine and running gear, into the rust. Sister was on the wire wheel doing the dirty work
  21. So this would be my sister Jessie's car, a family project which we are restoring to its former glory. Rather a lot of work, ill let the pictures do the talking Discussion:
  22. new rubber carb gaskets from palmside AND WHO STOLE MY ORIGINAL STANDARD DATSUN GREEN!? TOYOTA PRIUS....
  23. Long time no update. Family has shifted back to Katikati in the BoP so havent had much time with the car as im still in welly studying at uni. But cars been running well, I have been mucking round with the jetting and adjustments when I come up on breaks. On a trip to Auckland I managed to break one of the diaphragm pump shafts which link the throttle arm to the diaphragm, had to limp it home for 2 hours. So a new one of those went in and also some new rubber gaskets which have made such a difference - old ones were flogged. Been to Pauanui, the mount and rotorua, hasnt been doing as much travelling with me being away so gets locked under cover in the shed
  24. At the NZ Datsun Nationals in Oakune my mechanical fuel pump shat itself while driving up the mountain. The metal plate which holds the diagram was rusted out and not working as it should have. hmmm 40 odd year old pump, had done around 38,000kms with me with no issues. With the A14 being bigger than the A12, the carbs we running out of gas at high RPM for a while. Heading up hills at 5000 rpm it would start to stuggle. So I purchased a small Facet cube 7psi pump, Edelbrock 1-4 psi regulator plus all the fittings/fuel line/clamps/thread sealant. Also got an Edelbrock 1-4psi Regulator. Mounted the pump on a large rubber block, I installed it upside down above the tank with a filter before. Tucked away and stays quiet. Wired it in through a relay from the ignition and battery. Set the regulator to 2.8PSI for the dellortos. Working much better now and I can rev at 5k for as long as I want
  25. Been busy over the last few months A12 out and A14 in! Ended up building a fresh A14 9.8:1 Compression (pistons flycut) Cam with 2500rpm-6500rpm range 9.4kg Flywheel (2kg lighter than standard) Firmer Kelford valve springs Ported and polished head & manifold to my ability Twin 40mm dellortos & extractors New alloy radiator on its way, also have to install the e15 electronic dizzy at some point down the track. Here is a quick video of a small test start with single carb when I first installed the engine... Pics following Pistons flycut for clearance H89 head, water jackets tapped and grub screw inserted. Also drilled a small hole to locate a roll pin from the dellorto manifold to keep it alinged Discussion
