The auto-reverse is kicking in because it isn't detecting any tape movement, making it think it's at the end of the tape..
Mirageman is very likely spot on regarding the rubber drive belt, however getting them can be the fun bit.
See if you can remove the unit and whip the belt out, you might be able to find one online, the other rubber bit that usually goes is the capstan pinch roller, if it's not perished you may as well give it a clean along with the heads with some isopropyl alcohol while the unit is dismantled.

Well if I can make it, ill tell him to go fuck himself, I also live in his tranquil neighbourhood and have no issues with the club meets whatsoever.
Perhaps he chooses to just ignore the far noisier motorway just feet away from the venue because it wont tolerate his bullshit.
That might be inflamatory

Yea that's what I thought, maybe it's more the case of sellers uploading the wrong pictures? there's also this one that seems to be common but it the wire retainer clip looks different.
I'm pretty sure I need these.
But these seem to be the ones available and sellers cant confirm if they fit, and I was quoted $50 each??

continuing to track the misfire issue that started just before the drags..
A new dizzy cap has made a lot of progress, starting a lot easier, however the missing issue @5kRPM hasn't disappeared, and occasionally is runs like a biartch at any speed.
Was having a general look about the engine bay when I saw that one of the injector plugs looked like they were missing part of the body, the whole thing looks a bit brittle.
Engine stalled as soon as I touched the plug
Opened it up and found the pins were corroded, this is after I removed the majority of the corrosion
The corrosion seems to travel down the wires a bit too, so I'll need to replace some of the wiring loom to the injectors and the plugs.
As soon as I tried to remove the 2nd plug the front part with the wire clip part broke off
So..I'm on the lookout for a supplier for the plugs, problem is there seems to be a few that look similar but dont fit and google image searches lead me to a whole lot of dead ends overseas, anyone know the correct number/name of this plug?, and/or local supplier which doesn't charge $50+ per plug?
Need 2 plugs like this..

I had a play with the Cordia today, one of the fuel injector plugs had some corrosion and a crack, cleaned it up and the car is going much better, might be something to look at.

A set would go perfectly on the healing cruiser.
I can just see the perplexed faces now

Do you have to connect to the main, or bridge over it? Just curious on why you had to dig it up?

Lol, I would have taken that opportunity so I can't believe I lined myself up for that one
Let me rephrase that... actually no, I have the feeling I'm not going to win this one.
But if anyone is selling a train horn, give me a toot.

Where does one find train horns?

Watching this with interest as my Cordia GSR is doing exactly the same thing, changing the disty cap has made some progress but I haven't got it hot enough to make sure the problem is fixed

I reckon You're lucky that brick wall is there, I'd hate to imagine the shit council would put you through if it wasn't. Nice work Mr &Mrs Sheepers

I ended up with this air pump from the shed tour.
It's a Siemens 3 phase industrial pump and it caught my eye for the purpose of an extraction fan for my bead blaster.
Initially I had thoughts of swapping the motor for a single phase 230v or even a DC motor with a controller so I can adjust the speed, I need the flow rate high enough to keep the cabinet free of dust but not too high so it starts sucking out all the media.
Was just about to dismantle it for a clean up when wiped the dust off the top cap which showed the connection options and this is when it got a little more interesting, this motor can be wired in 3 Phase Star or 3 Phase Delta. (Obligatory warning, Dont ever try this unless you are qualified to do this as there's a chance of electrocution, explosion, fire, pestilence, flood and other nastiness)
As you can see, in delta the windings are configured in a 240v config, but however if you did hook up a 230v source to say L1 and L2 the motor wont start, it'll just sit there and him and get hot! as there's no air moving to cool it down, you can get the motor running by spinning the shaft and eventually it will start but at a lesser power output and of course wont restart.
Remembering a bit of my NZCE done years ago I know that adding a capacitor can have the effect of a phase shift or delay which is similar to adding another phase, there's a few calculations you need to do which I wont go into here in the interest of safety as things can go horribly wrong if you mess it up
End result is a very use able 3 phase air pump on single phase, I have a Variac that can make this variable speed, win!

Thanks Mr V for organising a sweet shed tour as well as the providers of sheds and also to the other OS'ers who decided to brave the precipitation.
Epic sheds coupled with many epic sharn's and epic cake.

Hard to tell from the map legend. Is the OS selling sausages? Or is it beside a fork in a main road? Puhuhuhuhu

Not a lot going on at the moment, have bought some bits like the MB cylinder, looking at a set of new shocks and may have a donor car shortly

That shed of Tumeke's looks to have some legendary stuff in it, I'm happy to sacrifice my shed in lieu of another shed, so to speak. Still want to attend either way!
-
Can start with coffee's at my shed again if we need a starting point and if we have a lack of sheds, not too much has changed but I'm sure we can find something interesting, dates are pretty easy but a good 6-8weeks would be good to let people get stuff together.

Weather is crazy! Huge blue/green flash across the sky heading back home tonight, wind was madness on the motorway, especially between Te Atatu and waterview, cop cars all over the place.
