I cleaned every interior part. Shampooed the carpet in the boot. Didn't get around too doing the interior carpet. The carpet is in good condition otherwise.
Went too Repco and brought some floor mats which complement the interior well.
She's all crisp, clean and clear now.

I took the Stellar home on boxing day. Once everyone had left the house for a week or two.
The past few days has been a bit of a spruce up task with the old girl. Pulling apart the interior, putting parts back in place, cleaning behind everything, including the door cards. Since I've brought it, I haven't actually had a decent look at the rest of the interior. Overall it's in pretty fine condition, with a few cracks here and there in the plastic. As the below pic shows. That was the worst. Where am I going too get that?

Where did you get the new seal from? I've got a mirage leaking from the same spot.
My mechanic put a universal CV joint seal over it, and that sealed it up properly. As he had too cut it in the middle, he made sure the split was at the top.

Its basically a pivot point on the rear axle, used on a few mitsi models of the era. From what I have seen on my cordia, it would need to be dismantled to replace the boot
FML, that's not what I really wanted too hear. Ah shit, there's a nice big job.

I was told by my local mechanic it's a hanger bearing. But hey your right, if I drop the shaft I could slide a universal boot over the shaft into the middle.

Hey guys,
Just taken the old Mirage in for a WOF, and my WOF guy failed it on a torn rubber seal in the middle if the rear axle. I think it's called a hanger bearing? I'm kinda worried now. I've attached a pic which shows the rubber seal is torn on the bottom bit. Is there any way that this can be sealed up? Like a new piece of rubber be put around it, or have something put over it which will cover it up. I've heard the axle will have too be taken out. And I'm not really looking forward too that. My other mirage is doing the same thing. I cannot be bothered with the expense in having the whole axle taken out.
Thanks guys.
