Very nice. Many more coolness points than a modern V6 conversion will ever score. Of course back in the day none of us cared over much about fuel consumption etc. It was all about the fun.

At Lemans the works team Minis were all over the big block Galaxies on the windy bits back in the day.

A geezer I knew in the '80s had a 1300 that gave a few flash modern cars a fright on many occasions. The motor was done up to Cooper S spec plus a bit but it just looked like a grandpa car.

Angus Fogg used to race a 1300 in pre '65 class too so it is not totally ridiculous to have a go with what you have.

Wait for the young ones to say I'm crazy and living in the past.

Was a V8 LTD ute getting around Whangarei back in the early '90s. Interior was out of a Fairmont Ghia I think. The builder and the next owner both belonged to the same club as me. Wonder if it's the same one?

Is it possible to remove your tank and invert it for easier cleaning? I can't remove the tank on my sixty year old tractor without removal of the cab and the steering wheel as the column goes through the tank and a cab cross-member goes over the tank.
