  1. Just had a thought. Have you considered a Terios? We had a first generation one at work for a while and I was quite impressed with the way it went. Also the second generation Terios that looks a lot like a first generation RAV4 might be worth a look.

  2. It's more than just the big A pillars which are common to pretty much everything nowadays Bling. His main gripes are the limited rearward visibility and the overly high sills on the door windows which make the windows themselves seem smaller than they actually are.

  3. A few workmates have, or have had, CRVs and seem quite pleased with them. Most are older ones though. Boss has a near new one and an older model and actually prefers the old one as the visibility while driving is better due to larger windows and smaller pillars. The new ones suffer from hugeblindspotitis as do current model RAV4s and similar vehicles. Boss tows his boat with the CRV but it's not a huge boat.

  4. Potentially. She's not keen to go into the retirement prison full time just yet though. It's hard work for my wife caring for her. We prefer not to leave her home alone for any length of time which makes it difficult to do some things. She's a little bit crazy but it's a good kind of crazy most of the time.

  5. Mate's old Odyessy was near new when he had it and it still hogged the juice. Went okay though.

No way I'm borrowing money to buy a car. I'm barely managing the two mortgages as it is. Perhaps in three years time when the second mortgage is paid off saving for a better car will be possible. By then it is unlikely that we will need a people mover though as the MIL will be either dead or in full time care and at least one more of the children is likely to have moved out leaving only four of us at home.

  6. A chick I went to tech with had one of those CFs. Ex school bus but no seats in the back anymore, just bean bags. Could still transport heaps of students in there.

I'd be interested to know how the MPV goes / whether it was a good buy. Seen a few of those for sale too.

  7. Appreciate the advice Speeno but I'm a long way from ever being able to afford a 10k car even if I sold all the vehicles I currently have and actually like. Best option I have within budget is something that, while it might be considered a bit of a shitter by many, isn't a complete shitter.
