Ok, I got stumped almost at the first post on the exhaust cones and I will need to do some doctoring and welding to the baffles.
The box looks well soldered by someone who can solder well but the alterations are botched! For a start the bigger connection has four wires on the bike but only 3 in the box which have been shifted and vice versa on the other.
Can someone with some experience/knowledge know if the box is a generic aftermarket trigger and i wonder if i can fix it

Thanks, I will have a go - I investigated earlier and the plot thickens, i found a likely oriental special black box with no markings connected . I figured it has now gone to tomorrows project while I am concentrating on putting the cones on my waterbus.

Sorry for my ignorance, I know basic electrics stuff but not much more, It uses a pickup and an ignitor which is what seems to be the faulty unit?
It only has 3 wires to the smaller connector.

Nice going, we have something in common, 2strokes rule! If you ever come south with your 2smoke look me up for a ride together.
That Blue 71 was identical colour to the one I rode back when I was 16, what a rush it was stepping off an A50 onto it and so much fun even though I was never really in full control of it in the lower gears, they had detuned them after that model. I while back I wanted to buy an early Mach3 but ended up settling on a GT750 instead.
Good luck on the build

I took a chance on getting this thing running ok again, I have been advised the CDI is buggered and they seem to be Hens teeth 2nd hand so may need to look at after market enhanced units $$.
The one in it is an after market unit from an Auckland business ER&D that doesn't appear to be in business now. Apparently it will run but it was tested by a shop as having a faulty CDI unit.
I traded a parts bike for it and was told they are a good model with oft suspensionso looking forward to getting it going again. Maybe I can use it when I attempt the 1000km in a day ride when i decide to do it this summer

Just had a gander at the weather forecast. Yr are predicting showers on friday between 1pm and 5pm. However the further north I looked the smaller the predicted rainfall gets.
I have been keeping an eye on it too and might be chasing our tail but doesn't look like much unless it changes.
Hey what time are people heading for Hanmer?

Here is an example of 1974 info I have, is anyone interested in this for other years? I have a spreadsheet of small bikes from 70-79 and all models from 71 - 94 with just frame and engine numbers.
I believe the frame and engine numbering is where they end although not sure if TM models were numbered?

Can someone help me with requirements for getting my 1974 TC100 done?
I have original Black plate and Ownership papers with it's details matching the chassis and engine
This model never came with indicators unlike the TS100, will I need them?

Seen hq in Thailand in 2001 was badged as a Holden Kingswood so might I been private import?
Holden sold various models into a few Asian countries, even Peter Brock raced a 186ci LC Torana at the Macau races and got 2nd in the main race. Some of the models used low compression engines to meet the fuel in some countries. Indonesia imported them under the Holden badge as well.
The Chev badged ones went to the Middle east, South America and South Africa etc. I used to have list but took my old website down but from memory they exported to around 60-70 countries under both Holden and Chevrolet. Even though the early Commodores look like the Vauxhalls and Opels they were structurally different to allow the V8 and trans.
