Cheers I'll look into that
-
I am keen to have a look and turn it over. Usual story, don't need it, kind of want it for wanker points saying I've got a twin cam escort, then have this in the bay. My main concern at this point is gearbox options. I dunno what they came with, how much they are to buy, how sturdy they are, if there's a more modern option to bolt up its a no Brainer. Old school cool carby twink with a nice smooth 5 speed behind it.

Are there any resident Alfa foamers on here that can offer words of warning or encouragement toward a twin cam? There's one on marketplace which looks cheap at 800, the dellortos would be nearly worth that surely? From a quick google it could be from a 1984 Guiletta? It looks complete from the pics.
Main concerns are what are the weak points on these motors, any inherent flaws? Are there any modern gearbox options? Should i just walk away?
Plans would be to fit this to an escort sometime 35yrs from now when I get round to that project.

How big? I have a few
1.25 - 1.5 would be around what I'm after. I hadn't thought of 3d printing though. That's a great idea.

Has anyone made their own dimple die(s) ? I only need 1 size, I need some speed holes in the escort. I've seen a few YouTube videos on how to make your own but if anyone done it got any tips/tricks? Is it cost effective or should I just pay the $150 for one. I assume once I buy one I'll find holes to swage with it.

Does this have a blind spot in front of it like two eggball fields long?
Yes, and the same turning circle.
It's a mack superliner and a genuine piece of history, but they're horrible to drive. The blindspot is nothing but dangerous, (you could park 2 cars in front of it and you'd see the front 1/3 of the front car) they're noisy, rough and hot in the summer. But it's a blokes bloke truck so....

Yeah nah yeah sorry, we won't make the convoy. Will be heading up around 4-4.30 to hopefully roll in at dusk.
-
I've only booked off a half day off work, so I might have to chase the convoy down. I'll be at the peg at about 1 I reckon, I'm picking the mrs (Sam) up from work on the way.

Has anyone got any decent links to wiring pinouts for modern cars? Trying to fit an NZ toyota radio to a JPN toyota car and can't find comprehensive pinouts for either. It's fucking frustrating as it works for radio, but won't connect to the phone because microphone isn't connected but can't find the factory jpn wiring colours for microphone . (Reverse camera is next)

It seems really hard to find what I want but maybe I'm not searching for the right buzzwords I dunno. I'm after a non bitumous, stone chip/underseal which you can paint over. I want to do the bottom of the sills on the missus triumph which im currently repairing. I have some 2pack paint which is not 100% colour match so if I can use the stonechip the texture change should be a bit more forgiving to the eye. I'm going to run a line down the side and up the dogleg slightly. Pics of the product I'm looking for. I don't have a Schutz gun but could get one.
Ta. Joe.

I think once there's a battery, secure that, fresh fuel, check the lights, quick blast up the road to clean off the brakes/ listen and feel for anything weird and send it for a wof. Then if it fails, we'll get into that list, but tbh I can't see it failing on much.

Did the car go for a run?
No, not even sure why tbh, next time, when it goes for a wof.

Thanks for that. Do you know of any boxes that bolt up? Or anyone that's done it before? Not looking for a complete how to, but some more info to read up on would be good.
