Waiting on a few things to come back from paint, like oil tank and exhaust brackets...then I should be able to try starting it up for the first time.

Starter jackshaft arrived. This isn't the correct one for my parts, however I ordered it on the off chance I could make it work. Long story short, I took the original jackshaft and this one, swapped a few parts around, did some witchcraft in the lathe and fingers crossed I've made a working starter motor with cushioned engagement pinion. Time will tell...

More cool shit made. Axle blocks for the tensioner system.

One side of the axle has a plate, the other has a castle nut. Both sides are completely different unfortunately, but solutions not problems...

Wiring underneath. Work in progress, but its falling into place.

If its the same as a dry clutch, double check the witness marks in the clutch inner and outer. They go together a certain way. Its possible to assemble them the wrong way.

New addition, 1959-1962 round tail vespa VBB. Just a frame...but I just so happen to have quite a few parts lol...

More one off parts made.

Pressed out of 6mm stainless plate, then milled on the rotary table. Came out pretty mint given how cunty stainless is to work with and my cheap hobby tools.

This took a bit of figuring out, but a cheeky reach around was all it needed to solve the problem.

All good practice on the mill. I used the DRO 1/2 functions to find centre/s and it did the maths for me.

Yep. But that's not finished in the photo, it will look much better when the lines are connected to the oil tank.

Went with black lines, as the old adage goes "if something is ugly, try not to attract attention towards it"

Oil lines and heaps of shitty little things sorted. I spent 3x 12hr days in the shed this weekend and I struggle to see where the time went. But lots of small custum parts machined up to solve problems.

The simpler it looks, the more work it takes to make it look that way.

I have the early model 90, 1965, 3 speed with small door so engine upgrade options are almost nil. I used to have an SS90, that was a fun scoot - one I should never have sold

Its a large door 50s 4 speed. Im super stoked with it. Probably go down the rabbit hole of making it faster later on, but for now its not a priority to go fast.

Got it, and I was right...it does look great in my shed. So sexy in its original paint and unmolested condition. Plan is to simply get it going and enjoy it as is.

Painted this rotor plate in 2K, came up pretty good for a hang it from a tree outside kinda job.

I've done a heap of stuff, but haven't really been updating this thread. I want to, as its a good way for me to look back over some of the stuff I've done.

I'm happy with it, but turn signals, and handlebars are my main headaches on this bike. Nothing I've done to date I'm overtly excited about...but needs must. I'm sure this won't be the last time I change them, 5 sets if handlebars, 4 sets of risers, and 4 different types of turn signals and I'm still looking for better ideas.
