  1. Yeah I'd love to keep it. But honestly it's time to get my priorities in order.

    I want $15,000 for it.

It's a genuine 2 owner low mileage car with no rust issues. It runs and drives and isn't flagged at all. It just needs a little finishing inside and a quick mechanical check and it should be good to go. It's got a rebuilt box in it now. And it's a full former spec 1 of 1 car.

You couldn't buy one here for 15k now no matter bring it over.

  2. I guess it's time I reviewed the 1994 mercury marquis gs. That I've had for a year and a bit.

OK so I'll admit this was a desperate Vegas purchase. Our other car fell through and this was the last running car out a town available, despite the rear shocks being totally shot. It ran, was a v8 and was legal for $800. Get on.

I handed over the folding and the lady, to my horror removed the plates.

Dammit. I hurriedly fixed this with a trip to the casino gift shop and boom high Roller was legal (warning this is not legal) I had a fun time smoking around in it until I left. I parked it in the desert in winslow turned it off and left the key in it.

Finding a need this year for a back up car I sent my transportation man to go check it out and retrieve it. It was there so I had it shipped to Phoenix.

So a year after I turned it off I checked the fluids put on a battery and it fired straight up. It took a minuite to relearn it's idle and it was fine.

I took the time to clean the encroaching desert out of the air box and buy a set of rear shocks (the others were actually pretty new too. But whoever fitted them didn't tighten the top nut so they were floating free!!!) This made it dramatic lyall more drivable, the ac had bled out tho so that sucked 45 degrees sucks the life out of ya. It had a round of stuffed window regs too so it took a bit of manual help to get the windows up.

It's a full framed car with an incredible parts back up as its the same as a crown Vic, beloved vehicle of taxi drivers and cops everywhere. It's a lot stiffer chassis than an equivalent falcon. It also rides and handles better too. The 4.6 modular Motor is excellent, it's super smooth and very powerful for a 4.6 and fuel efficient too. Especially with the automatic overdrive box, it's super long geared. Bearing in mind this basicly a taxi it will pull a sat nav corrected 137mph. That's motoring.

I have to be honest I'm a massive fan of this platform. Parts prices are great. Window reg new $50 shocks pair $50 and everyone carries spares all over the usa. And used parts are everywhere. The boot and interior space are huge, the petrol tank gives a useful range of around 350_400 miles. The air conditioning is superb no matter the outside temp and it's a great all rounder, the wipers suck a bit, but I think that's something peculiar to mine.the endless intermittent settings before getting to on is frustrating tho..

If your coming to the usa and want a cheap v8 run round that can easily accommodate 4 it's the car for you.

They are everywhere starting at 250 for the more adventurous to about 5k for a super late model minter. 1200 buys you an early model top of the line mercury.

I legalised mine here in kansas and fixed the windows and ac, and man is it good I think I may ship it home to nz!!!
