  1. So a lot of people have asked me why I wanted to go to all the trouble, stress and expense of organizing and running the C2C, since there is no profit or reward in it for me, so I'll take a quick moment to answer.

    1. My Generation had no chance to enter any of the original Cannonball runs, all of my life I have been totally fascinated by the fact it is possible to drive across the continental USA in a little under two days (a little over one day if you are Ed Bolian or Alex Roy ) The only way I could be sure I would get to experience the sense of acheivement that this might bring, was to run an event myself.

    2. The time it took to cross America was once the Gold standard of how transport technology had moved on, Think of it, from Horse to Car to Motorcycle to Plane, overland this was the test that ruled them all.

    3. As soon as I decided to put a pre 1979 age limit and an under $3000 cost, this became something different, it wont be about coming first it will be about actually making it all the way, under the time limit. This will be automotive Valhalla. I've never even sat in my Caddy, and yet I expect it to drive 2817 miles to NYC and then 2817 miles nonstop back???

    4. Everything in life is not about money, you can't put a monetry value to all the things you can experience in life, and it would be a terrible world if you could.

    5. Well what the hell, if I wont organize it, who will?

I Salute all of you very different people with, very different cars for joining me on this, And I honestly cant wait to catch up with you all for the start in NYC in a very short time. Its going to be a blast.

  2. I think you might find a 2-stroke triple out of reach of mortal man now, 750cc (which is the biggest and you'd need that to make it move) are like $4000 engines now.

Yamaha fzr1000 or in fact any acoss the frame 4cyl motor would be just the job for insanity spec burnouts

Sounds an awesome project, err tell me more about this afterhours muscle car madness.

  3. Goddamn there's some ass kicking films on here! White Lightning is awesome!!!! and has the best trailer in history.

I can't believe you mentioned Sorcerer, Massively hard to find amazing film, blew my freeking mind!

Hell Drivers was the film my nan let me see after Whiskey Galore, made a massive impact on me.

There are some great movies on here, I'll post a couple you might not have seen.

    Speedtrap 1977

Joe Don Baker plays an insurance investigator that plays by his own rules :)

    McQ 1974

Unmissable, John Wayne as a 70's cop, Damn straight. The Duke kicks ass and takes names , great chases and an awesome supporting cast, stunts by Hal Needham!

    Brannigan 1975

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_CG4GA2pqc

John Wayne destroying most of 70's London and giving a Ford Capri Hell, Peter Brayham stuntman from the Sweeney and the Professionals, shows some class in this, he actuall did the tower bridge jump, despite promising the Authoritys he wouldnt, he was led away in cuffs and fined, however the Director "looked after him" very well for it :)

    Robbery 1967

More Jags on the Blag, nice driving all round in this great movie

    Villain 1971

Richard Burton in acting overdrive as an old school bad ass, great car chase, partially shown here.

  4. Actually there is a lot of classic Ozzy films from the 70's and 80's that most people missed, well worth tracking down are.

Midnite Auto Spares 1983 (Charger Fans prepair to cry, actually all Ozzy car fans!)

    Running from the Guns 1987

Honestly freeking amazing real Cobra's, real Phase 3's and the general bunch of Mutants destroying everything, has an unmissably well shot car chase, the Helicopter shots are amazing!

Plus if you need to see an XJ6 at 150% cornering ability this is the one.

The Man from Hong Kong 1975

Grant Paige turns it all the way up to 11 as usual, The big three Battle this out, the Charger was borrowed from a dealer as there wasn't enough money in the budget to buy one, you'll see the pasting it gets, the car was repaired and returned to Chrysler, after alledgedly costing $500 less than the new price to return. Here's the good bit, ever wondered where the practice of crushing film used cars came from? A woman bought the car EX demo, and knew nothing of its past until going to see the movie at the cinema, she recognised the rego and Chrysler were forced to give her a new car :). Watch for the explosion where the Crown door is blown off, cool as it looks it was a total accident and nearly killed the camraman!

  6. Ok so finally i got around to sorting out the Tranny, winter has been cold, and there's been so much to do with the Cannonball and other assorted things.

Me and Three on the tree were going through another shed reorganisation (we bought more cars!) and I spotted the Mustang dirty, and neglected sitting in a pool of tranny fluid.

"Fuck its a shame I said, what kind of asshat leaves a car like that to sit around?

I pulled it up the front and decided to run it down a friends to stick it on the ramp and change the trans gaskets, I had them in the car anyway, two minutes of looking at it and we decided that the box is not a C4 and these were the wrong bits, its a C6 he said, wtf??? I thought all 302's came standard with a C4? Anyway he ordered the bits and I took off home.

Next morning I got a call, mustangs done he said and I popped down to pick it up, honestly it feels so good to have an oil tight trans, I cant believe I've been pushing the F@$ker around the shed for so long. I picked up a set of wiper blades for it too.

It's funny, but my cars always seem to inspire a love hate relationship with the public, Some guy in an Audi 4x4 was looking down his nose at me at the lights, quite literally sneering at me, when all of a sudden the back windows rolled down and his kids started taking pics and asking me to rev it up, maybe it pissed him off my couple of grand Mustang was cooler than his $110k Audi to his kids?

Now I guess I should finish the interior, a bit, get the lights working and maybe, just maybe get this thing legal?

  7. S2000 is way too hard for me to get hold of and supply, Same deal with rotary.

    Sr20 Sylvia?

Honestly I love MGB's and I they are ok as a standard car, they arn't amazing but they are fun, as soon as you modify one thing everything else needs modifiying too.

I suspect the Wire wheels wont stand up to too much abuse, and lets face facts if it is modified, will you use that in a car which will grind off your head when you flip it over? (maybe its just me that thinks like that, but Convertables kinda freak me out!)

Since it's fully intact mecanicly why not just give the B esries a bit of help with some extractors and a cam and leave it at that?

Its not like there's not enough to take care of with the body, which has the structural integrety of a potato chip at the moment.

Damn Have I become sensible here?
