Hey good to meet you guys last night
Burgers weren't bad either
-
Just fill coolant, then pull one hose from core a little bit to let the air out, refit hose and job is done.
I have to do this to my samurai coz the auto choke works on coolant and the carb is higher than the rad cap

Hey man great build
My old man built us electric karts when we were kids
(6v VW generator on 12v battery)
He used a morris minor window regulator for the steering at the end of the steering column to the "tie rods"
Kinda works like a rack and pinion and the steering wont be so touchy
cut the long arm off (I'm sure I didn't need to explain that)

Wifes 07 Jetta does a long term average of 8.6l 100km
open road about 6.9l 100km
I've had it down to 50l 100km
(wanted to see how far I could get the onboard display down to lol)

Yes I agree that it would take 11 ballzillion years for a swap like that to be cost effective,
Although, none of the safety either. May as well be driving a coke can if you crashed a small 70s or 80s car.
Are you sure you're at the right place?
Edit: Damn just realised I'm quoting page 1

I've done it on the suzuki. Worked great. Didn't like the idea of compressed air coz if you accidentally push down on the valve and break the seal, then it's all over

The mount on the back of the hub is not the same, and new mk2 rotors won't fit dammit!!
So does anyone have a pair of mk2 front hubs?
Cheers

Thanks guys that's what I was thinking. So are the rotor mount points the same on the back of the hubs?
-
Yeah Blackwood Paykels does shim steel in sheets, just cut to size

So two days back from Murica and I'm in to it
Scored some 1/4 bumpers to replace the homemade 1/4's on the front,
thanks Mr.Mainstream
Also picked up some 13x7 Hotwires
Spokes were painted black, so I scratched the paint off, sanded, more sanded, then polished one wheel so far
Only took 2 hours
So what do we prefer, Modgies or Hotwires?
(Modgies are staggered 13x7 neg offset front, 13x8 rear 0 offset)
Needs more low, but that can wait
Got a full set of the proper wheel nuts from Appco for only $50!
(Priced BNT $9 each)
Also, still got some unanswered questions, and some new questions if youse peoples in the know could share your knowings with me?
1- Do I need a fuel return line on the 32/36 Dgav, or can I plug the outlet?
2- Why do I have M12 1.5 wheel studs on the rear and 7/16" on front???
Could this be linked to the small rotors?
Do I have mk1 hubs on the front?
I thought mk1 hubs don't fit mk2 stubs?
and mk1 stubs wouldn't fit the struts/steering?
wtf?
Please don't guess your answers, facts saves a lot of fucking around on my end
I eagerly await replies and discussifications :)

Also looking for a glovebox if anyone has one going spare?
-
Yeah man you got that van sorted quick!
Window removing came out awesome
Fuck I can't wait to get home
-
once its certed then the vehicle has to match what the cert plate says, so if its certed for original suspension, then it gets lowered, it needs certing again- even if the modifications fall within the wof criteria
So if it has never been certed for anything, and it gets lowered without certing but falls within wof criteria,
Does it need certing?
lol mindfuck

And how is that different to the rope on the drum. And of course the pulley dia has to suit the cable size.....
I'm talking about turfor cable. It has a solid steel rod running up the centre and will be fucked if you bend it
-
I would. Usually take a tirfor and a couple of truck tie downs and they get used
You know not to put a turfor cable through a pulley block aye. In fact don't bend it at all or it will be fucked
-
Why arw you not coming? Jo would love a weekend away or you could have a weekend away from her.....
Yeah I wish
Flying to the states Monday, too much to do before we go
Plus the vans in bits, don't think it would make it if it wasn't in bits anyhows
next year eh!

^ Just read that in Stewies voice lol

my steel bar acts as strengthening
Btw the rating of the winch is for the first layer on the drum, the more layers on the less pulling power because the drum gets bigger (like gearing up)
I got the bigger winch so the winch is under less load and would wind in faster, and I wouldn't have to keep using a pulley block (and it was only $50 more than the 6000lb
Cam - My old man did a pretty simple modification to his terrano to stop it bending steering arms
And don't get aftermarket CVs they are tiny and weak
-
And I have to tie to a tree to do it. Stretch suzuki soon
-
They recommend 1.5 times weight of vehicle. But that's a bit low if you ask me. I have 8000lb (that's 3636kg vg) and im glad i did coz I mostly use it to pull bigger vehicles out.

Can't say I'd really agree with hiluxes being "bang for buck", they're no doubt ones of the best trucks you can get but they certainly ain't cheap in comparison to others on the market!
Our club has a 33" tyre limit so everyone is at the same level
Hiluxes, especially surfs are in the low average compared to others
All the young fellas seem to like em
"hey my mates got one and he's cool, maybe ill get one too and i'll be cool" ffs
its all Barry Crumps fault
