That fake patina has Ruined the car. Looks shitte. not even a patina, just shitte looking paint job

dont thinks it will help sell the car

real shame, as you could have made it look cool when it was white, with a nice set of wheels (even titans NOT lol) lowering, good cut and polish etc

what he should have done is

fluffy fur carpet and roof lining, frillings along roof edges, beaded seat covers, chrome lag pipes, rear wheels sticking out 3-4 inches past the rear guard, raise the back up 3-5 inches, kerb antennas all corners, 2-3 per corner

  2. :D

i dont understand you guys, when it comes to converting a car from lhd to rhd its too difficult

but fitting 9 inch/toyota diffs, roll cages, tube framing, the modifications people do to rx's but a conversion is out of the question ? :D

Someone school me, are the firewalls in LHD and RHD first gen RX7s the same? I seem to think not?

    ummm like think about it

your asking if a rhd with the steering column, brake booster on the rhd is the same as a lhd :D :P

your answer is in your question :P

no, they are not, they are not mirror image too, like the pre rx7 rx's

is it easy to convert from lhd to rhd firewalls :D yes it is :D

  4. rx03 :D

stunning, me not sure on interior colour though, does int brown suit ext blue ?

these high priced rx's, at what price do you have to pay for a excellent example

like 75k for a cracked dash, me thinks things like that should not be like that :D

all the little things that need doing for a big amount of money

even the ones at 30-50k have alot of little things etc, that can be repaired for little money, compared to the asking price etc

    i dont get it :D

    re rear boot spoiler

do the bonded ones last ? or do they end up cracking ?

personally id prefer a bolt on :)

I would think if a LHD gets converted and certed over here then it’d be worth pretty much the same as a genuine RHD one.

going through the cert and vinning process would be piece of mind that it’s all been done correctly and the cars in a solid state

yeah, me thinks too, that if done right/correct should be same value as a rhd

i dont think theyd be same value as a, is it concourse ? or one owner rhd, or low mileage original etc, thinks thats a different ball game etc

That is a very, very good question!

It would depend on how good the dash was and if there were any cracks.

But any cracks could be repaired before being installed.

When you consider how cheap left hooks are here and how many there are I would think there would be a good demand for a conversion kit. Especially one as complete as the list above.

As for a price, not sure but would have to be worth several thousand.

If a good RHD 7 is worth 30-50k

And a LHD one is worth 10-15k

If a conversion kit was 5k you could still be in with a chance of making money.

And that is the big factor. Most people who bought in LHD were doing so with the hope of making a profit.

So at 15k that LHD 7 is probably making the importer 5k? He spends that on the conversion kit and sells the car for 30k he has probably made a good solid profit of 15k (less money for cert etc) brings the profit down to 10k but still double what a nine converted one was.

So based on my basic maths skills I would start at 5k and see what happens.

The market here is silly and unpredictable but I DO see a market for a RHD 7 dash and I think you could sell one for really good money.

    Good luck!

    Cheers kiwi808

It's I have X2, series 3, rx7, im breaking, then thought about making a conversion kit for to sell in UK, not sure if sell here

Then thought. NZ, It probably sell easier. As kiwis spend money on rx7s :)

was going to bring both back in container, might just put on pallet :)

Now have to go pull finger and get kits boxed up

will take pictures and detail exactly what's in kit

    then maybe advertise in nz

    see what happens

  7. So what you'd reckon a FB, Series 2/3, RHD conversion kit for a LHD is worth ?

    list of the parts
    - dash top
    - dash, below dash top, glove box etc
    - steel mounts for dash top, steering column etc
    - steering column and steering box (RHD) bolts etc
    - idler arm and bolts etc (RHD)
    - dash wiring, to extend lhd to rhd position
    - brake booster and brake master cylinder
    - brake valve and front brake pipes etc
    - brake and clutch and accelerator pedal box etc
    - wiper motor and linkages (RHD)
    - wiper panel for rhd
all parts requried to convert etc

  8. ^^^ is more expensive to ship a car from austrailia to nz, than from like europe to uk, i dont know how they get their prices lol

you could always, advertise it for sale on trademe, saying its in aus, price as is or price shipped to auckland etc

doesnt cost much to advertise, so worth a shot :)

  9. @rotormotor

    first, check dtc's

yes, series 5, has x2 sensors,

a new mazda tps, is cheaper than an engine :)

i bought a brand new one for my s4 13BT when i recond the engine, its insurance for your engine etc, also they run better etc

there could be other problems causing your faults

check your sparkplugs, use FD ones, NGK BUR9EQ, trailing and leading

    check your ignition leads,

check you inlet gasket, one that goes to block, they have a common problem of cracking and letting in air, can cause same symptoms you describe

have engine running and pour water or use brake cleaner, spray around bottom intake gasket, check if idle goes even more funny or engine stalls

its common for the gasket area to crack and fall away around the secondary ports

    also check fuel pressure etc

more information about your setup etc would help to diagnose better

if you can borrow a used tps, that is known to be ok, it would help elimate etc
