Reminds me of this one.
I think he was the first to be prosecuted under the boy racer law, age 55
Mind you, 100m number 11's in the main st don't really help your case..

I went from no rear bar to maybe a 20 or 24mm one.
Made a massive difference. Too much for my liking and I went to around a 19mm.
On a fwd Nissan.
My technique was/is, come in to a corner real hot, and wide as possible. Brake hard as you start to turn then let off. Stab the brakes a bit when it starts to understeer for some weight transfer which gets you pointing the right way then apply as much power as you can without wheelspin.
Works well on mt messenger...

I think there are a few places you give your old gasket to and they send you a copper one.
I got a quote years ago for a ca18/20 I was building and it was not that much. Maybe 200. Some joker in chch I believe.
-
Maybe get a copper one made up?

Me and Ray(ja1lb8) and Bart heading down from new Plymouth but will cut across at Wanganui

some pics
ended up going with hella semi sealed. not that cheap but best fit by far.
before
after
also whipped out the drivers seat as its a bit saggy like your nanas you know whats
fuck its heavy
also, broken springs x 3
being the slender human that i am has probably not helped
I think ill just put some plywood in there and a piece of foam on top
Radiator back next week, got the kit for the brakes and some new pads as the current ones have swelled up and are jamming in the stupid english design caliper.
maybe a little makita action on the front coils? the back is a bit soft so im cautious about trying to do too much there. maybe a small block.
nats is only a few shed nights away for me. what could possibly go wrong

Saw you parked up at Countdown on Sunday. Car's looking good!
cheers man, im often out and about on the weekends when the weathers nice.
-
FIxed all the hoses, including pulling the dash out to get at the heater box.
Been driving it around a bit and discovered a small leak out of the bottom radiator outlet. Took it out and tried to swap in a 330 series 260c item, but its too tall.
Today i took the radiator to some old barrys at the radiator shop in town. They knew who made the core and where to get one before even finding out what the radiator was out of!
So thats getting recored.
Also, the brakes are fucking stupid. One day a long time ago, datsun decided to put disc brakes on their flagship cedric. They looked around and saw these calipers on cars such as ferraris, jensens, jags etc. All mid 60's sports cars.
They thought that they would be a great choice.
They were wrong.
Took me a week to locate a caliper kit and some pads.
Also, new semi sealed headlights. Tried many types of lamps until i found some that fitted the car correctly. A little flat on the lense, but they will be sweet. However they are the most expensive. FML
Long story short $$$$$
hope to have it going for nats.
pics then

Can't find the link, but there are places that can get scratches and such out.
They use one of those buffing wheels on an angle grinder and progressively finer grit.
There are some videos on YouTube

I seem to recall snell springs being on industry road in Penrose sometime early 2000's when I was working at nuplex across the road
-
Also feels wheird when the slush box changes down when slowing the brake.peddle drops a bit
When the auto drops down it brings the revs up which gives you more vacuum to the brake booster.

Awesome. Now sell it to Tom!

Did you try bunta at brake and clutch? He's usually pretty well priced?

Awesome work so far. Gives me the motorvation to get out in my shed.
You could probably fashion some new handbrake pads out of some generic ones and a few licks of the angle grinder.
-
How thick is your running in oil? Can have a big effect on pressure.
-
Actually 60psi at idle is sweet. That's 4 bar. I would be stoked with that.
Might have been less when you first started it due to oil gallery's and filter full of air etc.
-
Yeah good point. Check it with another gauge.
Just put 1 bolt in a rocker cover and start it. Then undo it and lift off quickly to check. It's only a light flick of oil.
The oil should be not so much 'pissing out' but lightly running out of each one.
The oil feeds the head on the inlet cam side. So if you check the exhaust side you will know all the can journals are getting fed.
-
How hot did you get it? All that grease and shit probably tightened up all the gaps in the bearings.
Bit of heat should sort it out.
Also. I have an rfb skyline that was freshly rebuilt. Was making 100psi cold idle and 60 hot idle.
So don't worry about it. Maybe check the oil is pissing out of the cam bearings at idle to reassure yourself.
-
Must have broken them when undoing.
They aren't down a deep hole on those heads. Easy to cock the socket over on the piss if you aren't watching.

i have had a lot of success by charging the battery fully and then dropping it bottom first about 1-2 inches onto concrete to shake any further sulphation off the plates.
Then take the caps off and tip it up so the acid runs out and shake all the shit out with it. give it a good blast out with some water too. Then dry out and re-fill with fresh acid.

Cable tie the bag shut at the hole area?

I was discussing this with Tom today. Hope the rust is not too bad!

Shut yeah! Sohc CA turbs!
Yea I would try spin the Cas by hand or with a drill without cranking to see what signals your getting. Done it before trying to sort a rfb Cas.
Glass cylindrical fuses where and wtf

I bought a multi packet of narva fuses that came in all the amp ratings from part master for $3 before nats. They had one of those spiny stands with all the fuses you could get.
