Since iv entered this thing in OS drags this year, its about time i chucked up a post about one of my latest money pits....
1986 VK Royale (vk and a half efi 3.3)
After a palmy swap meet road trip a couple of years ago in this VK my mate Chris offered me this... so it came home with me.
I drove it for a while as is fixing a few issues and decided to sell off my other VK as a rolling body (kept the 327 for our HQ more in that some other time) also kept all the good bits for this one (suspension seats etc)
then came the decision to do something different... and so it all started with a cheap second hand gt35 turbo off facebook (which turned out to be rooted) then came the Garrett turbo and the turbosmart bits and the link G4 and the gearbox, clutch, driveshaft and the full engine build.... and into the pit of $$ this car goes
to save me rambling on Ill let the pictures do the talking....

Hi All Im Drew
Been A long time lurker and now a contributing member
This is the story of our 1973 Hillman Hunter Super
One night browsing trade me I came across this gem of British engineering excellence and suggested to Nicole that she needed a project/oldschool car. (also something i can use until i eventually get my VK Commodore going)
Shes a genuine one lady owner car with a genuine 88812 miles on the clock, Shes sat in storage up dairy flat ways for 10 years from when her owner passed away, we brought her off the owners grandson who hadn't had the time or knowledge to fix her up, with the promise we would get her back on the road. We picked the mighty hillman up on the 7th of august and brought it back to Hamilton.
after an oil change and some fresh fuel with a little tlc the little 1725cc Rootes engine fired into life for the first time in 10 years
The brakes were totally seized all round so a full rebuild was in order, including the brake and clutch mater cylinders, pulled apart and cleaned the cooling system to find a few bits needed replacing replaced the ingnition system and removed a good 40 years of the oil and gunk builtup around the motor and the underside of the car.
We also replaced the crossply tubed tyres on the front with some new rubber before we took her in for a WOF on the 12th of september where we cleansheeted the wof inspection. a quick stop for some rego and "Bessie" (as Nicoles named her) is road legal for the first time in 10 years, bring on summer cruising starting with hamilton oldschool night this thurs.
Heres some of the pics of the journey to get her back on the road
