  1. while i was playing around programming the dash i took a quick video of the paddle shifters we are at the point it needs to be tested in fury at the track aiming for the 30 September at taupo once i get back from holiday in Europe. traveling around via nurberg etc. but for now heres a quick vid https://youtu.be/t87fT9m0Ubo
  2. hahah stoppies are more than likely on the cards haha
  3. now for the more interesting bits some of you may know we no longer have a gear stick in the car. its now going to be all air shifted via paddles on the wheel . yes it is still a h pattern gearbox with an air assisted clucth just to try something new that a good friend has being playing with. more pictures of the rear of the car to come aswell with the whole boot being cut out for undertray and air tank / compressor setup as you can see i have installed a new dash and moved all the switches down to where the gear stick used to be to try to make it easier for me and remove clutter of the columb new exhaust is made to suit the new tray at the rear in the pic you can see the new compressor and air tank that has been mounted for the air shift a bit of a blur but the new 4age engine has been built new cp pistons 4agze rods 7 rib block etc and piper cams have set the timing and basically started straight away after waikatio engine re conditioners have done all the testing and machining on the block with a home ported head from dad. finally ran the car at work today to see if the gear box will shift and the clutch etc does its job all seems to just needs to be speed up but thats just in the software almost ready for gtrnz this year .......
  4. Lack of updates i know busy in the shed and about to go on holiday great timming before race season. tbh im usless at updating but so far from where ive left off we have made new calipers and hubs using a wilwood 6pot caliper and ap racing f5000 front rotors with endless pads which should stop the car
  5. Mate inhave no clue no marks on crank pully at all it did it half way down the back straight of taupo at around 8500rpm the ex cam wheel has just broken or sumthing the inlet one is cracked
  6. So after all the hard work getting the car ready for an invitational meeting to test we lasted five laps till our engine expired with the exhaust cam gear disidergrating and then yer putting everything out of time then of course every thing saying hello broken cam shafts etc all bent valves and some marks in the pistons YAY........ so as you may see its broken all the caps that hold the cams in and now heres the cams the inlet cam gear is also cracked on close inspection but now have a few cams. and more so now this means an engine rebuild as well as upgrades........
  7. haha i was waiting for some one to notice ummm im not to sure atm
  8. so been mucking round with 6 pot calipers and have come up with the soloution to get this baby stoped haha so by my caculations these shall fit with the 265mm size rotor we would just need to make a hat and a adapter plate for the caliper. exuse my bad solid works drawing just a beginer learning
  9. some of you may Know ive had enough with this british powerd thing cooking itself and replaced just about everything in the engine department but must have a cracked head or block so given up on the BLMC 1300 rececently i purchased a toyota vitz powrerd mini project as a race car and have decided to repower the green machine so work has begun altho i am going to make my own subframe so a bit of work is required i have most things to complete the job which is great and also another spare caged shell ohhh and the start of some gsxr 600 throttle boddies for the vitz engine not sure weather they will go on tho but the ideas are all there spare fibre glass fronts but steel front will remain and the homologated cage which was a bonus now we have removed the engine now time for the fun to begin should be a relativaly good project its just a matter of getting it through cert etc at the end of the day bye for now
  10. So been quite lately busy developing and looking at new ways to improve the car here the first of our development to try for the next round to see weather we run bigger rims next year for tires so i took the wheels of the road car as that's out of action receiving a jap power plant now got some nice 8.2inch wide slicks altho it wasn't just bolt on fit haha was when car was on the stands but modifying was necessary we had to raise guards slightly but modified the front heaps especially moving the splitter forward as you can see quite a gap to fit so out came the fibre glass and alloy now it came out ok but close enough to run a meeting like it for taupo the wider wheels do loose us clearance to the crank pulley so steering stops might go in after this last race but thats not all we have planed even removing the gear stick next season and 265mm front brakes with willwood 6 pots stay tuned
  11. cheers for now ill add some exciting new devlopments soon once i get them sorted my self myself
  12. Thanks ahh as far as times go a 1.47 which is close to last season times but im on old rubber and alot more brakes could be used haha so ask me laubor weekend haha but its quicker than last year
  13. certainly alot better than last time out haha the fcr make a huge differnce on throttle response it just so much sharper no delay mind u its either open or closed lol but jetting is also alot easier with a wind range of jets avaliable not having to drill our own for thr r1 carbs and a better range
  14. on the 1st of october we went down to taupo for some much needed pre testing car ran well the new brakes certainly halling the car up and the new shock asorbing the bumbs and the fcr carbs sounding sweet as the 6 speed box allowed us to run the motor high in the rev range every shift so heres a short on board video of the car now on old tires and trying to not use tooo much of the car before the season haha
  15. soooo bought a body kit for a longer front mini and ofcourse i wanted to fit it to my car hahah so had to remove 100mm out off it and yer so heres a few pictures duct tape was the key involved here to hold it all together to semi glass it together hahah so to hold it on we decided to us dzues quick and easy heres the finished product so thats how it sits while i rember hers a picture of the new setup under the hood
