hey mate, i recently got a free 1978 hilux 18r ute with a 5spd, off a mates farm he no longer uses, so i'm going down the 18r path just gotta put a timing chain in it, will probs put it in stock for now, then once it gets boring will go down a similar path to you can't wait to see some updates on this beast!!

ah ok, i'll have a look at the one thats broken, its only broken on one side, my green one did the same, if you want i could try making the broken off part and weld it back together, i'll post a pic of it anyways

hey mate, sorry i took so long haha, i have 2 number plate holders, 1 is broken where it mounts and the other is pretty rusty, whats yours like?

yeah thats the same basic stuff i wanna do to a 12r, the 18r is a bigger motor so might not need as big carbs on 12r, and i'll have a look later on and let you know, cheers

car looks great mate, how did it go with the bike carbs, i had bike carbs on my original engine (2r) but pretty sure they were off a 250cc bike, didn't know what sort of bike they were off though, i ended up putting a 12r in it, just a stocker, but have a set of gsx 750 carbs i'm thinking of putting on it, wanna build a hotty 12r, but can't decide if its worth wasting my time on a 12r, when a stock 18r will probs have more go than a semi hotty 12r haha, would be cool though. i like the seats you got, i badly need better seats haha, its like driving on a water bed.... i might try to get something leather or vinyl on the backs but with material inserts or whatever you wanna call it where you sit, coz leather aint nice on 40 degree days haha
