  1. Cheery Jonny - glad someone thinks it’s cool apart from me haha. Ive tried to keep it honest as I can but a bit of a NA sleeper too. Hotwire regret...perhaps Im just loving the steelies at the moment. I ventured past another speed bump in my street today and no scrapage. I’m looking forward to the slightly higher profile tyres soon to allow me another cm of clearance. Might be taking it to hamptons next weekend if the weather is fine as it’s the caffeine and classics track day. Get some seat time in it and maybe, just maybe get it in 5th for the first time
  2. Update - all items on the list are done apart from adjusting the hand brake and moving the rear hard brake line up a tad on the diff. I fired the coupe up today and idled it for 20min the drove it up and down the road to get some heat into it. I wanted to monitor the temp and ensure the fan is doing its job and that the rad isn’t spitting any fluid. Pretty sure some neighbours applauded when I turned it off. That just made me turn it right back on. Cert recheck 14th May and toad test. Here are are some pics from today
  3. Did you drop in and check it out? Im into the fix it list now for cert and WOF. Booking in Chrome tickets for a legal track thrash after winter
  4. Update for those interested Repair Cert PASS Compliance and WOF all PASSED apart from the below 2 points - tighten hand brake cable - fix slight leak in return line to gas tank brass fitting Cert Clint did the cert on Friday and I’ve attached the list. I just need to work through that list and take it back for the brake road test. I also need the old old owner from USA to email that he sold me the car - I keep in touch so that won’t be an issue. Now to work through the list and get this sled legal. Am I happy? Yes, the answer is YES!
  5. Hi mate - Western Compliance in Kelston. Give Alex a call - he is bloody helpful and is a top dude. Even let me leave the car there and get the cert check done so I don’t need to move the car. Cheers
  6. Compliance and WOF today. Dealer plated FTW spat some fluid on the way down - shite rad cap. Swapped it out as I had 2 with me in case haha. Gagging for a tune.
  7. The last few days I have had elcrrical issues. Lost wipers/washers , lights and horn. Fml Matt my auto sparky came over from Redline and fixed all my issues tonight. I couldn’t be happier. He even fitted the brake light switch to the pedal box so we are all go. Compliance and WOF Thursday - along with hopefully the repair cert sign off. As I understand it, the WOF automatically fails due to the need of a Cert. Friday is cert check so I guess I have the to do list after that and have 21 days or something like that to rectify. Busy time and hope everything still works as it should for the checks - I’ve literally driven it 50metres up the road so Thursday will be it’s longest voyage in the new engine. Once this is all sorted, I will dyno it (perhaps earlier if required). Cheers
  8. Just tidying up all the loose ends. Added aditional brackets to the new rear soft brake hoses so that they don’t touch the diff. Venting the gas tank. Wrapping wiring. Bonnet on My rear brake diff hard line might need another flaring as I have a slight leak at one junction.
  9. SSR Jilba 14x7 zero offset in 4 x 110 I might be lipping them to achieve 14x8.5
  10. Haha cool! Thanks Amy - you guys need to hoon over to grab the dash vent and the centre dash panel. And the $ for the overriders.
  11. Cheers boss - you are welcome at anytime aye. Always a beer in the fridge and the 14s are down for a test fit.
  12. Another step closer... I took the sled to Lincoln Tyre Centre on Saturday for a wheel alignment and genera spanner check. The top blokes there went over the cars bolts and set up my suspension all nice and even They performed an alignment too, along with the print out - this will be going to the repair certifier to prove that the car is all square and set up. Next steps - last bit of wiring. Compliance/VIN 3 or 4th of April and then cert on the 5th. Until then I’m buttoning it up and trying to iron out as many kinks as I can. Exciting times.
  13. So tonight I now have a functioning hand brake! i need to have a riv nut session soon in a few key areas and I should be in a good place for the Gettin. Sorted for Compliance. Will take it for a professional alignment before the repair cert sign off. Then compliance and the cert. I need to raise it up more and it’s still low. The rear soft brake lines need made larger so that they totally clear the diff so that’s in the to do list getting there aye
  14. Took my mate for a spin just then and the exhaust flange ripped off a catseye on the road hahaha. Thats low Looks like the exhaust needs lifting up a tad innit FML
  15. I’m having REunion withdrawals therefore I wound up the front suspension to a good spot and took the 618 out for a street fang. The Racing Beat 51ida loves the engine set up and I’m gagging to take it on a longer drive.
  16. I had some more wiring done the other night and now all the exterior lights are working as they should. The petrol sender was kaput but thankfully I had an actual NOS Mazda 616 unit I picked up in Europe a while back. I put it in yesterday and it’s all working like a charm. Bumper bar and grille are on now and are looking schmicko. I will keep my NOS RX2 s2 grille tucked away for when the car gets a panel and paint down the line (if ever). Sorry for rhe sht burger photo as I forgot to get a good one and then had to do the ol screen shot gig from an old Snapchat. Cert is now April.
  17. Sweating my b bag off in the shed today! Progress is progress. I really need to raise this sled as it’s just too low at the mo. Reckon 1” on all 4 corners should help proceedings somewhat. Not that I don’t like it that low - more that it will drag the resonators over speed bumps hah. It’s starting super easy (as it fn should being a new motor) at the mo and I’m still gagging for a decent hoon.
  18. Cert is booked in for early March. I will need the following before that: 1) wheel alignment 2) wiring 100% done 3) custom handbrake cables made live put the carpet in and let me tell you, I think I could do a better job than Autodec. Anyone looking to do new carpet in their car - make a template and get some upholstery outfit to overlock the edges. It will be loads cheaper and should fit well too. Front seats are in as are the seatbelts - unfortunately the VIN people need to see and sign all seatbelt mounts. Unfortunate because 2 of mine are under the hood lining hahaha. The rest are easily accessible and clearly you can see the mounting points. It’s still low AF so I will wind all 4 adjusties up another 1” and see where we end up. I repainted the RX2 Coupe steering wheel and that’s now in the car. I need to fit the rear oh Jesus handles and one sun visor and that’s the end of the tedious small stuff. Cheers
  19. This is a cool build. Keep the pics coming
  20. Posted this in the bloody discussion section...
  21. The Racing Beat 51 IDA are just the 48 IDA that’s been bored out to 51. The ventries get cut down too and grub screwed to the body. The velocity stacks are siliconed in which makes it a pain in the ballbag to fit the standard K&N filter base.
