  1. Will upload more pic's soon just had these on pc already.
  2. Most recent thing i have done is a 5 stud swap and R32 brake up grade.
  3. This is my 1986 hr31 coupe project. Iv had the car for about 6 years now and been plagued with problems ever since buying it, but havent given up yet. As it sits it has an R32 rb20det with front faceing intake a Turbonetics T3/T4 a Megga squirt ECU,GTR 440 injectors and all normal bolt on junk. When it gos it gos pritty good was meant to be makeing just under 400hp at wheels at 20psi acording to tuner who did ECU install.
  4. Im not 100% sure but didnt some austin healey's have two steering box's? i remeber my dad saying the steering was a funny design on them.
  5. I would look in to WW2 era armoured cars as alot of them had very strange steering box and sometimes more then one and they can be made road legal in NZ. My dad is in military vehicle club and there is some very strange designs that are road legal.
  6. True i had always thought the s12 rear was pritty much the same as an hr31 i should of had a better look at my mates notch back s12 when he had it. The z31 5 stud hub is same size as the 4 stud r31 hub but the splines on the z31 hub are lot bigger, it seams all IRS r31's have small splines turbo or not but i got the z31 chapion flanges with the hubs that are same 4x1 bolt pattern as r31so wasnt a problem. Im runing r32 gtst disc's to match the caliper as the r32 disc is same size as my old turbo r31 disc just 5 stud. I know lot of people have done this conversion but nobodys said on any forum's how thick the caliper spacers nead to be. I Have just been useing washers to pack out caliper but havent found any that get it centered yet. Thanks for your input.
  7. Hey did you have to use a spacer on rear calipers to fit them? Im doing a Z31 5 stud swap on an Hr31 coupe. Im haveing problems centering the r32 2 pot caliper on to the disc its looking like i nead to make up some spaceing washers. Did you have the same problem? any help would be awsome. Thanks
  8. Havent been on here in while the y31 5 stud hubs were a no go offset was very very wrong wheels stuck out by almost 5" and couldnt get a disc to fit. So ended up finding some 5 stud z31 turbo hubs took almost a year to find some. They are same as factory 4 stud just have bigger splines on the chapion flange, so you nead to get the flange's with the hub if you do the swap. Its a good upgrade just for the extra brakeing you get going 5 stud as im now running r32 bm44 master cylinder r32 gts-t disc's with four pots front and 2 pots rear. My coupe is top of the line factory turbo but only had one pots front factory and used to run out of brake's when i was giveing it bit of cain.
  9. Hi i was just at smash palace aka horopito wreakers and saw one of these there very complet not much had been taken of it. maybe good for parts if you nead any.
  10. yeah both the y31 and r31 have drum hand brake in disc. was going to use z31 hubs but they have caliper hand brake like a silvia so went with y31. alot of people have done the swap but nobody seams to have posted any info on any of the forums out there.
  11. im converting the rear of my r31 coupe to five stud i have some y31 5 stud rear hubs and r32 gts-t brakes im planing on useing. has anybody done this before any info be handy. cheers
