Old thread dredge, how did you end up going ;battery wise?

batteries were the 50cc and pump gas type in the end haha. looked into the SLA's but they just werent going to be cool in a giant box for the amount needed.

the Li-Ion cell soldering thing looked good but in the end didnt have the patience to figure it out

shanghai customs does a cub kit nowadays, pricey from memory but really well set up - kiwi dude owns it

  2. Carb parts here. Cmsnl is a good source of schematics to find out how it all fits together too. Sometimes its easier to google the part number when you find what it is off here, then buy it cheaper somewhere else. Otherwise 19euro plus usually around 35euro shipping gets stupid for a couple of bolts.....

treatland moped store has a good amount of nc50 bits if youre looking for performance parts or new carbs etc

  3. Ok so just installed new tail light, variator belt and speedo cable wooop.....

but... test run still slightly surging at wot and then died 50m from the driveway on the way back....too lean??? Still only hits around 48kmh

hopefully didnt cook it being too lean (no filter element...) so ordered some foam just now.

raizer if its cooked ill be in contact for that cylinder kit haha

  4. so been thinking about it as a project for ages but what are a few rear engined keis? very keen to 2stroke outboard engine one...

V4 johnson as cheap as chips + small. spanny. big radiator.??

those fiat 850s on tm would be amazing. but weirdo kei possibly moreso.

  5. Something like @98cc 's two stroke outboard engine would be epic but still the actually fit in a gearbox issue.

if youre running thoughts on 'what fits in a mini' theres that finnish dude that fit a rover v8 on an austin princess box into his clubman....

otherwise theres an r1 on TM at the moment

    ...ps....you prettymuch should do this

  6. Not so superbike, but would some kind of quad engine work? They have reverse usually (or quad gearbox on superbike engine..?) Just need to find one able to produce enough power. Still the amr300 route?

cbr engines or ninjas are usually cheaper than r1s as theyre still they standard go-to behind a hayabusa. Cbr keeps it honda too if you dont go honda big red engine haha

  7. Thread for issue solving vs a build. been a while since tuning two strokes so bear with me...

currently sits at about 40kmh-ish full noise but feels like it would easily go more if pushed. currently has no air filter element

so what do i need to do to get a bit more juice from stock setup before buying bits? havent done a twist and go before so the whole variator thing is new ground.

    jets? belts? derestriction? etc

    input/knowldge/speculation/sharn welcome

I mega Pine the patina Honda tank eh, nice brat style seat in black behind it should look choice. Would rather avoid making it look like a skyteam dream copy

fair enough - i hear lanolin is good on patina. darkens it but stops it going further. plus you can then imagine youre riding a sheep

  9. Not that ive ever heard of or seen it done, but if you put a couple of dry ice pellets in the intake then tested it would they leak visible gas out any holes/leaks?

or soapy water test on outside. But youd be more scientitian with dry ice

One would expect if crank seals were that poked, to get it that lean, then it wouldnt push enough into the cylinder to run. And you'd be able to hear it leaking!

Is it actually getting enough fuel Kicker? wasn't your fuel tap a bit ham?
    Float height?
    Intake Gaskets?

Are these reed or piston port?

+1 on fuel tap/pump - my FR had fueling issues for ages and i ended up selling it. guy who bought it direct plumbed from the tank past the small diaphragm pump/tap and problem solved.
