  1. To ask us to produce a magic formula that you probably won't even follow anyway, that is over the line. Especially after asking Voldo about NA cams and shit and the not having the decency to reply after he laid it all out for you, and probably gave you some of best info you could hope to come across.

I didn't ignore him. I was quite happy going n/a with 193b's and was saving for them. $895+gst is quite a chunk to come up with.

Yes he was great and i was maybe not so forthcoming. I did a hell of a lot of research into my n/a build. Hell i did the swap myself, researched the best covers, sway bar thickness, gearbox to buy, how to do a blacktop ecu swap. When i had never done this before and i asked questions on toymods a Hell of a lot because i didn't know. Fuck i regreat asking this question now.

i know two bits of jack crap about turbochargers as never owned one. Was offered some parts cheap and now regreat it. will search in the future and sorry again to voldo. Have pm'd him.

/end thread on the note of me being a cunt

  2. I have a friend who make 270 rwhp with a turbo silvertop so it is possible.

You should run it on Meth.

Add NOS to help spool the turbo,

Might as well dry sump it while you are at it.

Use a throttle body before the turbo like the f1 cars, it helps spool.

  3. In today's day in age if you want people on an internet forum to build your car for you, and work out all of the problems involved, you are very like to run into people who tell you to fuck off.

There are literally thousands of pages that you can read that will tell the the perils and pros of boosting an NA motor.

Was only asking for advice. Its better to learn from others mistakes then make the same mistake again.

Like I said, N/A i know enough about not to blow myself or my car up, never played with the boosted gods before.

  4. Put the intercooler behind the front bumper and paint it black?

Have read that painting would decrease cooling effects. Do you know if this is true or not?

The intercooler I will be getting is a stock GSR one.

  5. Sweet have heard the Celica ones are pretty good but pricey. Was thinking about something like this so as not to have the rice-o-matic large intercooler and wreck the classic lines of the 82. Have yet to see a FMIC look good on a 82!

  6. This weekend was kinda expensive for a mate, he wrote off his GSR lancer and doesnt have insurance. Anyway he has agreed to sell me the TD-04 turbo, wastegate, Sequencial BOV and  390cc injectors for $50.

So I guess the question is can these run on a Silvertop with 11:1 comp ratio? Maybe set the wastgate for 5-7psi? Can the MAP sensor cope with this? Can the B/T ECU cope with this or would i need to go Honda ECU? Can the intake plenium cope with 7psi max or would it come flying apart?

Anyone know where a good place to get a manifold from would also be great.

  7. I don't, I mean, You, what?

The rules are the rules, and are written to cover a VERY broad range of vehicles. If you find someone who interprets the rules differently then by all means go for it.

SiR EG Civic is originally 1.6 yeah? And there is a cert guy saying a 1.8 swap doesn't need a cert? Rules say no. Pretty black and white.

was just venting cause the poor bugger needs to get a Cert. That's all.

  8. But 4age 16v smallport vs silvertop 20v isn't over the 20%.

Ltsa favours Honda. Makes it hard for the rest of us. They can drop a b18c in with no cert into a eg sir, yet us Toyota fans are screwed. Its a outrage.

My brother in law took his eg to get cert in Auckland where he lives and the guy said he didn't need as same engine family. Yet asked the same about the 82 and he said i needed a cert. Its just biased. makes it hard to support Toyota.

I don't agree with it, 4 extra valves should not mean a cert. going to the gze should tho.

    Cheers for the answers guys.

  9. Quick question about engine swaps and head swaps.

    1) If i put a 20v 4a into a smallport 92 does it NEED to be cert as the power output is not above 20% and its a 4a engine?

    2) if above does need a cert if i replace the 16v head with a 20v head, and change the pistons would that be better as its the original 4a block.

Confused as we did a 20v swap into a 92 and the WOF guy said he needed a cert unless he just did a head swap.
