  1. Did a tk test today, (test for gas in the cooling system) and fluid didnt change colour, so no gasket issue thank god. had a good look at radiator and looks to be pretty clogged in the fins, a flush didnt work so will get new or re core radiator.
  2. damn it, get it on the road and then have a potential head gasket issue, white foam in res tank, and every so often it blows some water out the res tank, also has a miss when warm at idle and im 3 psi short of top boost, also some bubbles coming out when cap off. no milky residue under cap or smell in radiator/res tank or white smoke from exaust and doesn't overheat. though I know this doesn't always happen, depends were it cracks? going to have a decent look and do a compression test.
  3. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!! what a relief.... ran some fuel conditioner shit thru it, which says it removes water also, went down for my wof on low boost, then tried high boost on the way home and away she went! thans for all the help and suggestions, seems our member "downtrail" had the right answer. cheers
  4. yea ive changed the plugs and gapped them correctly.
  5. yea I have a pod filter, the car came with a pod and ran fine, I did get a new one as it was old and dirty, have tried it with the old filter on and still had issues
  6. umm at least a few months I think
  7. no im pretty sure I didn't muck anything up, didn't bend the actuator arm, and took off and replaced one vac lines one at a time so that I didn't incorrectly hook them up. its not feeling like boost cut anymore, since I put everything back to factory, it doesn't feel like its hiiting a brick wall lol, all it does now is pop and crackle a bit when going thru boost on high.
  8. could old fuel cause my issue? my fuel is slightly old, going to drain it out, fill it up with new fuel and run some cleaner thru it...
  9. hi, thanks for that, will try a better one as the one I have is a autogauge one. thanks.
  10. anyone know if its safe to gap the plugs smaller than .8mm? that's what I have them set at right now, a lot of other threads ive read blame plug gap for misfire at high boost... the plugs are new, re gapped to .8mm, champion golds, copper core plugs.
  11. in more detail, run a wire from a constant 12v power source through a switch to the "on" of the ignition, then another wire from a 12v power source to the push button and then into the "start" wire of ignition.... flick the switch, push the button and your off, I think that's how I did it from memory (was a while ago) anyone please correct me if im wrong. hope this helps
  12. I did this on my bfmr mazda after the ignition fuckt out one day, it was pretty east to do, u need a switch and a push button, the switch to run power to ig, then button to start.
  13. yea thanks, will have to pay a visit to one soon if I don't sort it by next week
  14. its got to be better than the old one, came out of a perfectly running car, and if you read the post, you would have seen it made a difference... thanks for your concern anyway.
  15. I know that, but it cost me less time to just swap it for another one I had.
  16. so how else am I supposed to find out whats rong mate? please amuse me? I don't have money to pay 4 a mechanic plus parts, have gone over entire car looking for leaks, etc, have run a diagnostic on it with no codes showing... so please, if you have some idea I havnt already tried id love to hear it
  17. plugs, leads, rotor, dizzy cap, points, condenser, coil... sounds like one of those to me, my sr coupe used to do that until I changed some of that sht and it solved it
  18. did map sensor today, seems a bit better but still not 100%, am swapping ecu next week to see if that is the issue.... as I have tried everything else... :/
  19. will try that but I don't think its over boosting but you never know
  20. its plumbed into the hose that runs from the intake manifold to the bov...
  21. The only reason im thinking map sensor is because in my own stupid doing i hooked up the manifold pressure line 4rm the turbo to the map sensor hose, ran it at idle breifly until i realised what id done, so could have buggerd it?
  22. Na havnt tried another one, its a relativly new gauge and it used to work fine, still reads acurate on low boost. I was thinking also coil?
  23. update... went and got new plugs (gapped them too .8mm) and new fuel filter, wacked them in, and GRRRRR still no success! could a bad map sensor cause the problem im having?
  24. havent seen the check light yet tho...
