a bit of heat and some massaging and the wrinkles will disappear. but for now there is no more rips!!!

so had a good weekend at kumeu and i also picked up some parts for my valiant on Sunday to complete my car. i got my horn back together on my steering wheel and a ash tray mechanism.
this was earthing out on the bolt and the main peace it was meant to make contact with so it was going off when ever it wanted. so i quickly put some sticky tape over that and wabam no more earthing out
looks all complete with the horn on there now.
also the ash tray works now.
here are some photos of my seats stripped and what not
under neath the back seat was like brand new still
the foam was in good condition as well so i left it all on.
the back rest was a different story
so i ripped the old horse hair off and put some nice blue hard backed carpet in replace for extra comfort
then pulled the original foam over again
and at this stage i had sewn it all together and injured myself. mates came put them on. i just grabbed a photo of the back seats all finished and in my car.
rather happy with how it turned out now time to wait till my ankle is better and do the front seats.

so yea got half way threw my upholstery and i went back to do my afternoon milking and this happened as i stepped into the pit.
so yea cant finish my upholstery for the weekend but my mates came in and helped me finish my back seat. also sent my starter motor away to get rebuilt but looks like im getting pushed around in a wheel chair for kumeu...... -
so this is what my front and back seats look like atm.
i also got bored last night and wondered how my wheels would polish up. before and after photo
so i then had to carry on and do the three others. stupid me- 2

hey u said u gona do upholstery, can u not save the factory stuff?mayb repairs, cleaning, padding up ,colour touch up here and there,b better 2 keep factory u think? nice car by the way!
i will post some photos tomorrow. the front seat and back rest of the back seat has a rip in it. i do it for a job and i have been hunting round to find a material close to i wouldnt have to change much of it but to replace the peaces that are ripped i have to strip the seat close to right back any way. i will be keeping the light green pleats and giving them a sugar soap clean and i will be replacing all the dark green with the one ive picked thats is as close as i could get it.
itl make more sense when i put pics up. and thanks heaps glad you like it

so finally done some work on the valiant since the drags. not much thou. i shot down to the local rubber and foam suppler i use at work and napped up 13 meters of door rubber and replaced the old crap. cant see light threw it any more.
i also ordered 8 meters of the closest and nicest dark green vinyl i could get to my seats. so this weeks jobs for me is to re upholster my car before kumeu on sat. hopefully i don't end up doing it all Friday night. -

finally got the internet back so time to update. got the electronic ignition in and wow! made a change straight away. then went and took it for a tune up and to see how much hp its pushing. 100.5hp at the rear wheel.
thought ild take it for a drive on thursday, see if i could feel the difference after the tune.driving along and time to change gears and bang!!! hold up i have no clutch!! whats going on here my peddle is on the floor and it kinda staying there :/
quick phone call to Evan (bevan) and he was on his way to help pull it apart see what was broken ect....
drive shaft out and about to undo the bow housing and WABAM found my problem. this pivot arm had made a HUGE crack and wasn't pivoting
quick trip to visit a mate see if he had one. nope. on the phone to owner of aussie spares at 9 to see if he had any in his parts. he said he might have a couple but turns out they were wrong so off to get it welded.
end result
rushed home on friday so i could have it up and going for drag racing. had nothing but problems with it slipping of side ways till i realized at 930 what was going on. a little spring clip thingy wasnt on correctly allowing it to slide left. so chucked that on and went for a drive. all fixed!!!!!
chucked it back in the garage for the night and shot off back to work to finish a job.
with 2 hours sleep i was back up again for work and trying to organize things for drag day.
what a bloody good day at the drags!!!! got 16 runs in and my fastest was 18.90 @ 115.5km. also managed to win dyo as well.
must thank the oldschool guys who put it on heaps!!! such a great day!!
oh i also had these arrive from ozz ready for my next engine
-

Its rather tidy. previous owner had it for 9 years and looked after it really well.
I will prob just drive it round over summer clock up a few kms on it and flick it off when i get bord of it or it starts having problems.

Hey, nice wheel purchase.
You going to change your stud pattern to fit them?
thanks man not that often you find a set of 15x7 set of globes around. dad had already change the drums on the front to disk brakes so the front is running 5x114.3 so we took the rear axles out and had them re drilled when i was still at school. so not having to change anything at all just bolt on and away we go

so i finally got around to putting mu globes on the valiant.
whats every ones thoughts on them?
myself they are growing on me. need a smaller profile tyre and its also made the car a lot heavier to steer now as well.
i had to use a hammer to beat this a part of my inner guard so i didn't completely wreck my tyres
but they deferentially fill the guards up been an inch wider.
