  1. Kinda on topic, can anyone recommend a good glue/sealant to put a front windscreen back in?

Windscreen adhesive is way better than sealant if you do not want to remove it any time soon.  Sealant is basically just a sealer but adhesive is hard to get.  The other time i bought any the people that sold it were fags about it so i don't talk to them anymore and go to smith&smith glass dealer instead but they only want to sell giant logs of the stuff lol.

Umm...  double sided foam (the good stuff not $2 shop crap) plus sealant around the edges sounds good to me.

  2. i used that stick on chrome vinyl wrap on rusty bogged painted bumpers that might work for you if you get the carbon fibre.  Was $50 for over a meter of it so you would have heaps left over for when it fades/peels eventually.  Ok not the best idea ever but it might work.

  3. Don't think they were all amazing mint cars. They're in various states of repair with various motors in them. It's not like they found a bunch of RS1600's and then threw them in the crusher.

If i had a spare $50 i would bet they were all mint at first.

  4. is it ok to run no breather at all. will it not build up any pressure?

If there is nowhere for pressure to get out the oil normally gets forced out of either the rear main of front main seal.  Sometimes the cam seal.  Saw someones mitzi do that twice.

  5. Hows the parking for wet weather meets? Pretty keen to come along even though the forecast is for cyclone. Just wondering what the dealo is.

Also, the morris Minor needs a sticker please. Maybe in white (as I don't think oldschool does shit-looking-not-blue-or-green-but-something-inbetween coloured ones....)

    Color it with a vivid

  6. I thought about stopping there on my way to Manfeild and back a few times, but I was always to too rushed/tired. There are a few interesting vehicles in the sold section of that website:

What is the green fastback thing?

i want that lowlight even if it is only sidevalve &... covered in bog maybe?.  And the panelvan A30 looking thing that has to be rare. & the rover 90 looking thing i found a N.O.S. rear quarter for one at the dump & left it in the garage of someone who had a one with a munted corner.  No idea what happened to it but those cars were tanks.

  7. Diesel alternator with a vac pump sounds big and heavy, even if it is under driven and not drawing too much from the motor. Last resort if plan A doesn't work I reckon.

You've inspired me and I'm currently doing something similar with my car right now. Just need to make up an adaptor to bolt master in place of booster and we'll be away. I'm just going to have it actuating from as high up the pedal as I can and hope it gives an ok pedal feel.

i have one in the shed now they are not noticeably heavier.

  8. I feel like i should mention i never got pulled over with my one. I did get a call from the cops one day. Aparently someone *555'd me because they thought we were driving around gassing ourselves. Spent 20 minutes on the phone to some lady from head office that was completely clueless and trying to convince her i wasnt commiting public suicide.

So one time i did drive around with a hose for lolz but it melted & lots of photos were taken...  yeah i am a bad person.  Sorry ppl

  9. im to lazy to view all the pages but im looking at buying a old caravan to do up and was trying to find info and prices to re-reg it can anyone help

also looking at some bikes same deal

i registered a trailer once, it did not fully exist i just went to VTNZ and told them i wanted to register my trailer and they handed me the plates & a sheet of paper and finished the trailer & hung the plates on it then took it for a WOF.  No trouble.

ive just looked into getting a deregd XF fairmont re-regoed.a mate of my uncle who has known me all my life came to see it as his work does re-reging.it has quite a bit of structural rust around the front door hinges.apparently to pass a repair cert theyve got fussy as (expletive),put cameras down inside the areas, the whole nine yards with bare metal once rust has been cut, then new metal welded in yadda yadda.so to cut a long story short i got told its a waste of time trying to put it back on the rd :( just thought id share the info

If the repairs are so good they cannot see them you may not need a cert'.  That sounds over the top with the cameras though, i had a car revinned 6 months ago and they suggested it would be nice if it had a cert' but it was not really structural so they passed it.  Not sure how that works out in your case though.  Or like that other guy said, historic repairs.
