front mount intercooler one = 4jh1. that's a couple of generations back. most of everything is the same. engine a little different.
they're nowhere near as grunty but still hold their own.
the 4jh1 powered ones often go a bit gutless/unresponsive as they age. Not quite sure why. My old one wa a slug even after new MAF and all sorts of bits. We have 3 at work still. one is auto and goes like fuck all the time. the two manual ones are slugs when cold but get better as they heat up etc. blardy semi efi dieselz
but yeah they're still solid utes. I'd buy one.
The 4jh1 has the horrible vp44 injector pump. Rip it off and replace it with a mechanical pump from a 4jb1t, from there tuning is simplified significantly.

Sounds like there could be a short in the sensor or wiring. Have you tried the sensor in another car?
-
Have you checked all wiring back to the ecu with a multimeter? Could be a broken wire somewhere

They are not exactly log manifolds, they went from this old cast manifold to these stamped versions.
Old type

Just adjust the throttle linkage so it only gets half throttle for the test

Where are ya?
Also be very careful when pulling the injector out that you are actually undoing the entire injector and not just unscrewing the top half from the bottom half of the injector. (they are a serviceable item)
If you separate them then it is a specialist job to rebuild them - very high spring pressures and set up with shims - not a back yard job at all.
They come apart like this - you DO NOT want to do this.
They don't screw in. They are held down. Best to try and get it out with the engine warm. Just use a spanner on tge flats if it to work it back and forth and the pull it out. It will take a bit of effort

Just been down to steel and tube. Bought 2 of the combi bends for 85 each and a 5.5m length of tube for $105 had picked up a x pipe a while ago. Starts adding up quite quickly

A supertrapp for each pipe
Just googled them up. They look ugly as fuck.

How many mufflers should I use? Needs to be legal but not too quiet

If I have learned anything from this thread, its that you need 3"
It will be twin 2.5 inch. I dont think there will be room for twin 3 inch

I need to make an exhaust for my audi. It originally had a 20v turbo 5cyl and now has a 4.2 40v v8. The original exhaust is a twin pipe 2.25 inch. Im wanting to make it 2.5 inch. Does anyone have any recommendations for a twin inlet and outlet mufflers?

There a drawing for a hx35 outlet in the cad library

Get the waste gate welded shut. Get a flange laser cut for the out let and weld on a v band to that. Or you can get a single entry .7ar housing from bullseye

Was any of the r series boxes used behind the 22r? Seems a g52 will not be strong enough and has shitty ratios
-
I dont have a gearbox, i have an engine (non toyota) with an adapter that lets it bolt up where a 22r was used. What i want to know is what gearboxes were used behind the 22r engine.
-
What do you want to see a pic of?

I have an adapter plate for an engine to bolt up where a 22r was used. What gearboxes were used behind the 22r? I am a little confused on what can be used. Im after a 2wd box

You can tune your own ECU like a stand alone, there are quite a lot of maps to change, I cheated and download a tuned file

Its just a matter of flashing on the retuned file onto the ECU. This can be done over the diagnostic port.
I haven't run mine on the dyno yet but it will leave a vr6 behind. I just have a retuned ECU and 2.5" straight pipe exhaust. The only reliability issue is the clutch and front tyres

The shafts are the same diameter along the length. Im wanting to fit an r200 diff in my mercedes, the merc diff is approximately 225mm wide and the r200 is 315mm
-
I need to have a pair of half shafts shortened by about 50mm each. Who can do this and approximately how much does it cost?

I built up a megajolt years ago, had it setup but neve actually ran it. Its pretty basic to set up and the edis parts are cheap
Minimum cylinder wall thickness

Taller deck also means better rod stroke ratio
