ah I didnt buy one just yet, was girlfriends parents. but it was a 407 break. Not a bad car except for all the typical early 2000's integrated stereos and dash boards which are all failing
The 407 with the 2.7hdi go pretty hard for what they are

I bought my own bottle but it's annoying having to wait a week or two to get it filled, will be interesting to see how they will price it

It's easier to just reflash the ecu to never use the egr and just leave it on there

I looked at one for my land rover but decided to go with a quality recore, cost $700 though

Pretty easy to fix the chassis rust. I have a 110 that im dicking around with, have stripped it right down and will get it sandblasted. Tbh if you are wanting a coil sprung chassis it will be easier to buy a 110 or a 90 if you want swb.

Just go to your local sheet metal engineer with a box of piss and get some of his off cuts

Yes that can be done but the output turns the opposite direction so would spin the diff the wrong way

Sick van, Id love an old transit or bedford, would repower with a spare audi v8 I have as they are so short, just making a rwd box work would be a bit of a pain

I went through pretty quick on my bike, havent had anything in the mail yet

This was the mk2.
You can see the strap behind the pulley to the power steer pump. Sorry it's not that clear a photo. Was just a bit of flat bar with a nut welded in and ground down and a longer bolt in the idler pulley. The pump end was just a slot.
The reason for this was that the dog box allowed caused the motor to drop a couple thousand rpm in an instant in gear changes and the inertia of the alternator would cause it to pull the tensioner back as it slowed down and snap back and the belt jump off.
The bearing on top was to stop the belt whipping. Dunno if it was necessary but 550kw means you try everything. ...
You can get alternator pulleys with one way bearings to avoid that

I recently used The Gearbox Factory in Moselle Ave, Henderson.
Brian Casserly is the boss there. They know their stuff.

Have also used The Gearbox Factory in East Tamaki a few times, all jobs done well.
This is a bigger shop than Henderson, but further away for me, hence heading west.
You may find cheaper guys around, but there's an old saying ' Buy Cheap, Pay Twice".
What did the labour cost you? They quoted me just over $1k+gst for labour only
